Roof Rubber Strips

Do the smart people dispense with the roof rubber strips? Or replace with something similar? Or reuse but replace the double-sided tape?

Figure to repaint and masking around them seems like not the best way.

The sheet metal on the roof is thin and mostly unsupported, you shouldn't be putting anything directly on it. From that POV the rubber strips are just decorative. But if you want to replace it for decorative purposes I am pretty sure that 3M sells something.

From baking in the sun they should peel right off without a problem. At least mine did.
I had mine Line-X'ed just for the hell of it.
IIRC used some foam type double sided tape from Napa that came in the right size.
Want to say 3/4"?

When I removed mine to repaint, I found that the old adhesive remained behind and it took considerable effort to completely remove as the raised ribs the strips sat on were not flat.
