ROM thoughts and questions

Just to clarify for those reading the membership at BMRA is not required. There are two different fees, member or nonmember. The Texas OHV sticker is required though.

Perhaps something has changed then. Both of the times I've been there, I had to have active membership and then fees on top of that. I'm sure everyone can remember the confusion after rom '10 when the front office didn't charge any 2 people the same amount.

edit: then again....i do somewhat remember the dual fee schedule...but I can't say why I'm confused about it. All I know is I can only make it up there on average once per year and it still makes it out to around $100 in fees.

Yea the people in the office have been known to screw people over. Last time i was there they seemed to have their heads screwed on straight and it was hassle free.

I have been to Hidden falls a few times... yesterday I looked at the fees finally. Guess what I / we get a 20% Military discount "can't beat that with a stick ".

I'm sorry to see this turned into a back and forth. I can understand the change of venue. I was at the the 2010 ROM. It was miserable once the snow started up. We had to pack it in. I'm sorry we couldn't make this year's go round, but thats life. The BOD puts its heart and soul into this thing. Ive seen mentions of turning this into a bunch of chapters. Don't go there. Lone star jeep club is based in Dallas but has members ALL over the state. Maybe we need to just realize that things can't please everyone. How do other large clubs do it? I don't know, but maybe we need to ask. Midwest chapter comes to mind. I know they are huge and have problems too. they may have some insight. I'd love to step in and run for office just to say I took my turn in the meat grinder. Maybe I will, but my financial situation prolly won't allow that. I've been through the presidents slot in a horse club and it sucked. Give these guys a break y'all.

Wait... photobucket can do videos? I did not know that.:doh:

It can but its real slow might didn't take but I am on satellite internet so I think i will put them on u-tube unless someone has a better idea.
