So my buddy says he can make me some rock rails, and save me some bucks. I shoot him some pics of JKS Supernerfs, he says no problem. Then we start discussing the mounting. I'm wanting to make life easier for him. I suggest, instead of running a couple bolts through the pinch seam, why not just sit the square tube right up against it, and throw a couple stich welds on there and call it done. So, that is what we did. Should I be concerned about that in any way? I've not seen anyone else do this, and it just seems too simple? Be warned, the pinch seam DOES NOT RUN PARALLEL to the side of the truck  . My rails now have a slight taper, front to back. I saved enough bucks, and it's never going to be a show rig to not worry about it.
Thanks for the input.
PS. I know they will have to be cut off to be removed, but we had to weld them to the T&J Chassis stiffener too!
