IMPORTANT

To make it possible for more people to attend, Bill has agreed to hang around after his seminar ends on FRIDAY, 12 December.

Meet & Greet will be on Friday, at Wright's Farm in Woonsocket. We'll shoot for getting a table around 6:30 but if you can get there earlier, by all means do so.

Please post if you plan to attend, or are fairly certain you will. We'll try to get someone there early to sign us up for a table, and we need to know how many to seat.

See you there.

now that sounds like a better plan.. big thanks to bill for "taking one for the team" ...... somehow i doudt they will let us reserve a block of parking spaces huh??? pencil mikey and 2 kids in......

Hey, I'm heading up to Enfield, NH to pick up some parts, Friday.

How far outta my way would it be say to hoof from Syracuse to RI, then up to NH?....making the trip in my XJ..kinda concerned about how many highway miles i'm talking here

Well I dunno how far exactly enfield NH is or how you would be coming from Syracuse but figure about 3 hrs or so to get to woonsocket from the western NY/ Mass border and maybe 2 hrs from there to cross over the NH border. Sorry I cant be too specific, us people from N Eastern Mass dont usually venture out past Worcester MA so if I were you I'd give mapquest a try they are usually pretty good.

As for attending this event, Put me down as a maybe. I want to go but not completely sure on how my schedule is looking. There gonna be any wheeling? or just strictly a M&G?

It is basically being organized as a meet & greet. There were some people who have Friday off who might want to go check out the power line trail again, and CheapXJ volunteered to at least show them the entrance.

Personally, I'm not into night wheeling in winter. It was too cold the last time, when BrokenXJ lived up to his name -- again. And that day was mild compared to today.

Just remember Earle's advice: "It's all about the chicken."

from the mass/ny border on I-90 to Wright's is about 2.5 hrs..... im not sure about enfield nh.. the chicken farm is about 30 mins off of I-90....

Well according to MS Streets & Trips your trip would change from 5 hours (Syracuse-Enfield 283 mi) to 7.5 hours (Syracuse-Woonsocket-Enfield 468 mi). Not too bad :D I've got a 510 mi drive home after the meet and greet!

BTW, RI/CT locals - what are the local stations saying about a snow/mix storm this weekend? They are calling for 4-6" (maybe 18" ) here between Thursday night and Sunday. I really don't like the thought of the entire drive on Sunday being in a snow storm :(

Current Sunday forecast for the New Haven area calls for rain/snow showers/wind, with a high of 36 and a low of 19. Saturday looks about the same, with a high of 35 and a low of 28.

You know the way here. If you want to head here on Saturday, or even Friday night, and crash here to make a hop on to RI on Sunday, you're welcome to do so.

OK, looks like the girls and I will be there. Betty has a vacation day she has to take and we figure we'll be able to get some shopping done without Amy along during the day. So we'll be three.

Well ya'll I'm now in RI! Staying in Middletown and class is near TF Green Airport. I am online - checking the forums and my email every evening after class on my laptop. The course is awesome and well worth the trip - I'll be a search mananger upon completion.

Looking forward to meeting all the NAC folks at Wright's Farm on Friday. I'll be the one in the bright yellow jacket with "search and rescue" on the back if I'm not near my XJ.

Both Rhode Islanders will be in absentia. Bob Salemi will be in Florida, and Earle (remember Earle the fink?) decided his company Christmas party is more important than NAXJA.

At the moment, I have the following for head count:

Bill
Ryan (CheapXJ)
Me (Eagle)
Sidriptide +2
Grizzley +2

I PM'd both Moto and CuXJ88, both of whom were definite maybes, and have not heard back from either.

What's a good time for most? Is 6:30 too early?

630 is perfect for us.. i'll most likely have a "potential" member and his wife tagging along as well.... think you can whip up a "membership" kit with an application and some stickers?? i havent hit him up about membership but might as well have the stuff to offer up..
