Reverse light wiring?

Hey, I need to find out where the +12 source for the reverse lights originates from for a 1996 Cherokee. The vehicle had a fire so everything was rewired. Prior to the small fire/short the reverse lights were working, so I am going to assume that the reverse light switch on the AX15 is still working. We have the wire for the reverse lights at the driver's side kick panel, but are not sure where it runs from there. I know the reverse light switch is a 2 wire system but are not sure exactly how it controls the reverse lights, and if the reverse light wires connect directly to the reverse lights switch on the trans or not.

Any help is appreciated, as this is the one of the last wrinkles to iron out!

Also if anybody has any knowledge of what wire out of the OBD2 computer controls the electric fan....although that is less important at the moment as the fan is currently hardwired to a switch.

Thanks in advance!!

Here's the circuitry from the 96 Cherokee tech manual. From the ignition switch connector (C224 pin 2) it goes via a dark blue wire to splice S203 to connector C174 then to splice S124 to the PDC (still a dark blue wire). Power goes through the PDC at fuse 18 (15A) and comes out of the PDC on a Dark Blue/Wht tracer wire and goes to splice 121. It goes from there to the NSS connector (pin A) and comes out on pin E. It is now a brown with light green tracer wire and goes through connectors C173 pin F, C226 pin 3, C305 pin 4 (right side lamp comes out same pin, left side goes through connector). Left side lamp goes through C311 pin 4 to C416 pin A. Right side lamp goes through C324 pin 4 to C 417 pin A. All wires from the NSS on are brown w/ light green tracer)

According to the manual, C174 is a Cable end grey connector near the ABS controller (if you have ABS); it is right next to a natural color connector. They are not mounted. Not too far away is C173, a black connector that is mounted on a support bracket. C226 is a black connector near the right kick panel. C305 is a black connector under the right rear seat.

The best way to make sense of this is to draw it out as adiagram and then try to follow it. Hope this helps.

We figured it out, ended up just rewiring the sensor directly to the battery with a fuse and then to the reverse lights. Easier than tracing the mess from the motor swap.
