I noticed an old thread regarding a "no buS" message on the odometer. I've read quite a few posts on various forums regarding this subject, but none matched MY particular situation, so if there are any nice gearheads on here who would care to advise a lady in distress(lol), she would greatly appreciate it.

My vehicle is a 2001 Chrysler Sebring, and I get the "no buS" message, along with cluster lights going on and failure of fuel, tach, temp and speedometer gauges. When this began several months ago, it would happen once I'd been driving for about an hour. Now it happens after only 20-30 minutes of driving. Had it into the Chrysler dealer yesterday, and was told the entire information cluster panel is faulty(a $510 part of course!). I'm not sure I buy this.....logic tells me if the entire panel is faulty, the lights and message would be constant.

OK OK...I know its not a Jeep...lol. Does it help if I told ya my brother has a Jeep with the same problem? :sad1:

it means the cluster isnt communicating with any other controllers on the "bus". on the jeeps it is a bad connection and the connector needs to be replaced. not sure how the sebring is set up. it may need a cluster.

Thank you jneary. I believe it was your reply to an earlier post that made me feel I should look into other possibilities before spending that kind of money. I'll have my mechanic look into replacing the connector first to see if that alone makes a difference.
