Replacing Water Pump

Maybe there are differences between the '95 and '92 (mine). I don't recall having to take out the P/S pully. In any way, if you already unbolted most of the bracket it's easy enough to move the hole thing to the side (just put bracket and pump in the filter box area).

Well on my 95 the P/S bracket did need to be removed. The pump had to come out of the bracket to remove the bracket because there is a bolt behind the pump itself. Once the bracket is moved the water pump was an easy install.

Same here. Is it the same on 97+ XJ's? I just thought the belt tensioner was a wee bit different.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I did remove the P/S pump and bracket, just not the pully separate. And yes, the one behind the pump took me a while to figure out too :laugh:.
