does anyone know if an adapter is available to mate a later model cold air intake type setup to a renix throttle body?

the intake elbow on the renix bolts to the throttle body with a flat plate, and the later model HO throttle body has a riser on the top that the elbow attaches to with a simple clamp.

what im looking for is an adapter that would bolt to the renix throttle body and have a piece of tube welded to the top to accept a later model intake elbow.

before i make one, does anyone know if such a product exists?

I don't know of anything as you described. When I made an airtube for the Renix engine I used to have, I cut the rubber hose after the bend, and used a hoseclamp to attach the rubber tube to the airtube. I believe I used 3" PVC, which was almost too big for the rubber tube to get around. I don't have any of this stuff anymore so I can't look how it was made exactly. If you make an adapter as you described, just be careful as I think the rubber tube that bolts to the TB has some sort of notch in it to match with some hole in the top of the TB (IAC probably).

Try Pep Boys, they usaully have a lot of misc things and I think they sell an adapter so you can run a tube for the flat plate.

i was thinking of doing that, but if i can make an adapter easily and not have to cut the stock elbow i'd rather do that. thanks for the input.

The only thing I have found is just the tube that attaches to the stock rubber, Rusty's and Turbo City both have them.

it looks like that hesco adapter is what i was looking for. i'll check with turbo city too, carb legal saves me having to put the stock airbox back in come smog time :D
