Hey guys...time to empty your garage... Some one out there has an old RENIX lying around somewhere... My roommate needs a replacement for his jeep.. '89 Limited..fully loaded...Ghetto paint job.. hah

Will pay cash!!

Needed urgently..his pile is leaking oil all over the front of my house... And that cardboard is ugly...

:farmer:

So im the roommate with the oil leak... but I wish I could fix or just patch the leak. I have a golf ball size whole in the block :repair:
So if anyone has a renix out there I would greatly appreciate it if I could get my hands on it.
Thanks

I have a Renix that I bought as a core for $100. I pulled the head, cylinders look good comes w/ intake and exhaust. Also have a 96 head, 7120 and a complete 2000 that was supposed to be a good runner but had water in 1,2 from storage so it needs to be rebuilt. If your interested lmk, I'll let them go cheep.

Fix the oil leaks???

Easier said than done.. There is no way to fix THIS leak. You can see the rod ends, pretty much into the lower end of the block on cyl 6. It's kind of cool...but at the same time i'm crossing my fingers the oil doesn't leak through the cardboard... Landlord will kick my ass... lol

if in doubt, backbed the cardboard with a bunch of kitty litter... it will eventually seep through.

i have a similar situation as chasdb, ive got a 4.0 knocker i bought for $100, youre welcome to it for the same price... but it'll knock. it might work out for you though, not sure how badly you need it.... might be able to get a couple years out of it, for all i know...

Cat litter....duh.. i forgot about that..

It'll knock? Like.....rod knock?? If it's top end that shouldn't be a problem..cause for newer cyl heads and valve train.. Or use the set thats on there now.

Got one... Thanks to Charles!
Thanks everyone for looking...

i would change the freeze plugs before you drop it in. just for good measure

Thank you willy... i will need all the tips i can get. This will be my first major strip down of an engine to rebuild it. So please keep the tips coming.
Also I'm gonna need a good machine shop who can bore and shave the heads and block for me...? Anyone got one they use?? Only one i know is Freeway in Mission Viejo.
Thanks

Thanks for coming by, I'm gonna get my garage and drive cleaned up before the 4th. The machine shop my company has been using for 10 years plus changed ownership so I don't have any hookups and can't recomend them as of yet. Please let me know who you use and how they do.

I told him to hit up the machine shop off Avery. My dad has been going to Freeway for years, and has rebuilt his HEMI multiple times with their help. Great guys down there with excellent service. I think they might even have a Sprint Car race team.
