Just as the title states. Used the search function and came up with a few results but most were in indiana or farther. Need a good place/ guy that does quality work.... soldering and butt connectors > electrical tape lol. Most likely going to have two vehicles done; a 99 cherokee and an 06 cobalt.

Appreciate it guys.

p.s if anyone has a particular model/brand of remote starters they have good experience with,pm me... i`d appreciate it

i got a guy....he works at motorworks installing those damned things (and other damned things) in Mercedes' and porches and other things ill never own. he can most likely get you a great deal, and he works on the side installing these, and building subboxes and installing all that jazz on the side. Right down the road from me. shoot me a text if your interested

Rumor has it Arnie once fixed Chuck Norris's broken heart.

Hahaha, I hear Arnie once killed a bear with his bare hands........:D

Most local audio shops also install remote starters. I wouldn't mind getting one but my local audio guy is an asshole and tried to sabotage my buddys setup when he did audio comps so he aint getting my business. There are some out there that you can get a plug n play harness for but they aren't the cheapest. I would rather go that way than have someone possibly hack up my ignition wiring.

Yes mine is for two auto vehicles. And I have seen that plug and play kit from bulldog. The harness is 35 bucks but I don`t see one for a 99-00 xj :( Just a 95-96.... I think its because the newer XJ`S have the CHRYSLER'S SENTRY ANTI-THEFT TRANSPONDER System (GRAY IGNITION KEY ONLY)

these are for auto tranny's? i had a remote start in my 5 speed xj and it was a pain in the ass.

:roflmao: Ran it through the garage one too many times?

no, you had a series of steps to take to set the damn thing, e-brake on, touch brake pedal, turn off ignition, play with yourself, and spit on the ground. or something like that. you didn't know if your sequence was done properly till the next morn when you wanted to start it and it either would or wouldn't.

hmmm....I do that same sequence, but usually I insert step 4 in between all the other steps...strictly precautionary :D

just don't get somebody off of Craig's list to do it

pretty cleaver scam that happened involving my job, there was a lady siting in the waiting room for about 4 hrs before she went to the service desk and asked if they could find out if the guy installing her remote start was finished yet. they were confused because we don't do that here except for the new cars and we have a guy that comes in to do it. she said she found this guy on craigs list and he said to meet her here and wait in the waiting room paid cash up front and gave him the keys and went to wait, the guy hops in her car pulls around back and leaves through the back exit stealing her car and making around 200 bucks while he was at it.

thats hill jack...

i have a guy in Fort Wayne that has done several remote starts for me.

he does not use the key in the vehicle, only the sensor from the key...

some of the remote start units can copy the key's programing as well, of course they're expensive but then again so is buying another key if its chipped.

Hey Arnie, Thanks for suggesting me!!! Oh well, guess 4yrs at circuit city isn't enough......LOL j/k Those cobalts are a bitch to do. They have a hybrid passkey2/3 system that has to be bypassed. They may have a better interface out for it now though. and as for your jeep if it doesn't have the gray key its easy!! done many. heck if it does that is just another part with a few wires to be hooked up. but you could loose a key.
