Redneck Makeover Build

Yeah, this is not cool. Start teasing us with this thing and then never come back and let us know how its going. But... I am doubting that it got done. I know the transfer case was a big hold up since it got sent to me, and on top of that it was wrong so it didn't really matter. So, that being said, things are probably just taking a little longer than expected, which in our industry, that's to be expected haha. Oh the irony!

Um... I think they messed it up and don't wanna talk about it... rumor has it that when they welded on the stiffeners (on the rotisserie) the body warped and the doors no longer fit correctly??? Im not sure, its just hearsay, but its weird how they just stopped posting. I hope this is false info for Aarron's sake. Whats the point of even starting a thread if you're not going to follow through with it?

Hey Hey!

Sorry its been a while since anything has been posted. I never really intended to have a build thread until it was all said and done. Garth originally started the thread but had been cough up with work and school as of late. I haven't been able to post any pictures due to my terrible internet connection over her in Afghan.

All rumors are just that, rumors. Thank you for that one Tyler...

We slowed the build down a bit because we ended up having time to do so and everything is on schedule for my return on May 9th. There's a bunch of work that the xj has been threw. The exo cage and inner cage have been built and are on the way back from the powder coater. Stroker, trans and Atlas are all in and when the jeep is all together it will be off the the tuner to get the ECU custom tuned. Body trimming is complete and painted. OHC is complete with all associated wiring. Rear D44 has been trussed and disks have been added. On board air is installed and plumbed for the lockers and aux. output. New leafs coils and bump stops.

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head...

I will be creating my own build post once I have picked it up and done a little wheeling out in AZ. Anyone up for a little afternoon wheeling May 9th somewhere between Murfreesboro TN and Enterprise AL?

Aaron

That is good to hear! I personally doubted it, but in the back of my mind I was like "well, I guess its possible..." Glad to hear everything is ok. Oh, one more thing though, how about asking Charlie to stop calling me with questions on the build, I don't make my money by helping other shops complete projects. Don't mind to help out my customers when they are doing work with me, but when Im not doing the work Im not giving out info. They are big boys now, they can figure it out on their own. But anyway, not a big deal lol. Glad to hear its coming along nicely, no need to rush a build like that, from experience I can say that it does take a lot of time to do it right and make it look good! Get some pictures up for us man!

I got a few pictures to upload today. These are not the latest and greatest but you get the idea. I figure the end product will be better displayed once I get to see it first!

Shrek, Id probably take you up on your offer if time and distance was on our side.

That is one good looking XJ Aaron! Any reason the motor is painted blue?

well I hope you get more than 10,000 miles out of that cam. From the looks of your valve springs, they are double coil which increases your seat pressure.

But really where all that pressure is exerted is on the moving surfaces, for example, the lobes of the cam. by looking I am guessing you've got WAY too much pressure and aside from your lifters being pressed so hard against the lobes you also run the risk of bending pushrods

Your coil-bind as well as what seat pressure you are running @installed height without part numbers but I can tell you that around 100lbs@inst height is all you need for most any cam that is offered for this series of inline 6's and you will also reap the greatest longevity for your entire valvetrain.

That is all

Did someone say Stanley Cup??:eyes:
