Well we made it back. Nice place, definately will return in the future. They say there having a "Vendor Apperciation Day" in two weeks. They expect to have about 70-80 vendors there. Also, they have night rides every so often. Very friendly and helpful staff who BTW, is all volunteer. We were hoping to maybe find others to run with, which wasn't a problem. We ended up running into a bunch of CJ's in the parking lot. Come to find out, they were with a 4X4 club just up the road from where we live. Nice guys, Kuntry Kruzers I think it was. They said they are working on a website. I think the smallest was running probably 33's and the largest, 36's or close to it. ILLXJ is missing a pass. tail light, thanks to a tree. Also, he is missing 2 seat covers, believed to be "devoured" by him and his pass., (Fuzz, AKA my little bro.)in an extreme high-pucker-factor moment. Hopefully, they'll show up in a few days. I would say he was probably as close to rolling as he could get, without actually rolling. Very scary!! Sorry no, pics, he wasn't willing to hold the pose. I had to get a strap a couple of times, I kept up pretty well though with only a 3in and 30's I was surprised. I did utlize my new rock rails, with good results.:yelclap: At the first obstacle, I think we proved ourselves and our rigs. We got the "I don't think that Chrokee is gonna make that hill!" come over the radio. After we were both at the top, never heard another word about it the rest of the day. :gag: On that obstacle, all but two from the group took a strap, ILLXJ was one of them who didn't. I made it all the way to the top, but couldn't make it over the last little hump, and got hung up.The trails are clearly marked and easy to follow. We put the biggest guy in the front of the pack since we didn't really know what we would get into. There are several places where the trails intersect. We would run one for a while and come to an intersection and take off on another. They had never been there before either and was just kinda exploring a little bit.
I would agree with LBEXJ, on average, everything we encounterd was about like orange at Attica, maybe a little harder in places. Wasn't that crowded either. Great place to wheel. I'll go back! Not a bad drive for us, only about a hour and a half. Lot closer than the Badlands!
Pics to come, as soon as I get them hosted.
You missed out guys, maybe next time.
