Use the stater motor that will sure help, and buy a chiltons for yourself please.:rtm:

Easy buddy, I've done lots of work on cars but this is my first motor project. A friend of mine led me to believe that I could check compression by hand cranking the motor but I was of course misinformed. I was suspecting that doing this was a possible reason. I already have a chiltons so I will go ahead and check the compression by using the starter.

What size is the hole and thread for the temp sender?

I've seen a few contrasting numbers.

put a leak down tester on it and see where the air is going..

If the rings are bad you will hear air going into the crankcase.....
Valves not sealing will hear air coming out intake or exhaust.

Alright. Tested it out and got readings that I didn't really want. 3 of the cylinders were perfect but 3 not so much...

On to maybe a stroker....? Haha. We will see.
