Reasons not to move to California.

Last year I moved to WA state and I'm happily enjoying my freedom. My girl on the other hand is "missing her friends and family".

My reasons for not wanting to go back basically boil down to guns, cars, and taxes.
Things she doesnt really understand or care to understand. So I need some other reasons California sucks to help convince her it's the craphole that it is.

I was going to post this in the NWC but I decided since 80% of America hates California or has some gay joke about it. It would be better posted here.

My honest opinion ? I'd stay where you are if you're happy, no sense in moving to Cali for her if it's not what you want as well.

Sorry, but the truth is the state is full.

Of crap? I know :D

I don't think telling her the state is full will work.

Agreed, I was thinking about becoming one of those wierd oregonian people. Her family lives in Yreka (very very north Cali) so it would be good for both of us :)

Well there's your problem. The people who don't know, understand, or care about about those don't have a problem with california. The only reason(besides those listed above) that I don't like california boils down to the people there. California would be a beautiful place,...
If they just packed up about 15 million people(you know the ones I'm talking about)and moved them about 400 miles west.

Although something tells me that wouldn't appeal to your girlfriends sensibilities either.

Tell her with the taxes you saved you can buy her a new pair of shoes. Oh and to shutup and go make you a sammich!

Good idea I'll try this tonight. I'll also prep the couch for a night of sleeping with the dogs.

:D

I had to leave the lovely sate of Cali cause the women were all nuts and the coke was too cheap to pass up :farmer:

I'm actually trying to get back to NorCal, up in Hippie county, toooooo many people and too much concrete in the lower part

:roflmao: Agreed well atleast for the first part :)

you could always tell her if you run out of firewood in cali you can burn your IOU's from the Governator

Sadly that wouldn't keep my house as warm as my taxes keeping his house warm.

Funny, I moved from Ca, my girlfriend is still there, and doesn't want to move.

I'm not sure I want to go back. Not because of your reasons, but primarily for career reasons. I feel like everything I want to get into doesn't happen in Ca.

job market, shit.
housing market, shit.
cost of living, out of control.
taxes, laws, EPA, etc etc etc... out of control.

I wish more people would leave, it is a bit overcrowded. I like it here, but really the only things keeping me here these days are the weather and the geography. It's nice being within 2 hours of the mountains, the desert, and the ocean.

All this coming from someone who practically lives in the middle of nowhere. When you leave the city any direction you go is a bunch of sand. Not much to do, and a bunch of aweful drivers.
- I lived there for a few years, too many at that.

I agree, but at the speed that our country is going down hill, Europe may be where I am headed sooner than later.

if you hate cali so much, stay away!

we dont want you cali haters here anyway, theres enough of you complainers here as-is.

i love socal, you can keep your rednecks and rust.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with CA that getting rid of the Progressive Liberal Socialists wouldn't fix.

Actually it's all the people who moved her from east of the Sierras. Most of my former neighbors in San Francisco could not believe I was a native, very very rare. My daughters are 5th generation San Franciscan. Every single politician w/ exception of one that runs err ruins San Francisco is from some where else.

Please stay away!
