Rear Storage Compartment

Tonight I made a rear storage department for my jeep. I had the diamond plate laying around. I think I made it the perfect size, it's not too tall where reaching the bottom will be a pain, but it's not too short where the contents will be falling out.

i would take some vacuume hose and cut it down the middle and put it on the rough edge of the diamond plate to protect your arms from getting scratched. there are enough sharp edges on a jeep, why create more?

It's the factory edge on the top so it's not all that sharp, but I was going to go to pepboys and buy the door molding and put it along the top edge like you said.

heres mine, the box is made out of MDF board. The draw has a sheet metal face and the top of the box has stainless steel grate on it. It has 3 sections, the draw, a section for fluids and a sealed section for my 10" infinity sub, it's bolted through the floor to keep it secure. This is very heavy duty and can store a lot of stuff, It has always worked great for me.

I like that box that JMO posted, but we go to our camp once a week and I needed to be able to load everything up in the back, such as food, clothing, blankets, ect... If I would have a made a larger box, I don't think I would have been able to do that.
