So my dad just swapped in a 8.25 from a d35 and we just want to make sure that the drive line isn't too long. So does any body know how long the dl should be for a 98 xj with a aw4 and a 242.

does the jeep have a lift? is it still a stock driveline or sye

It's has a 5.5" lift. no sye.

Where did u find this info. I measured 28.75. So I guess that we just need to goto 6 states and get a inch cut off of it.

Measured the one on Betty my stocker (242), and the OEM one from the Nail Salon (231). Both are 8.25 rigs. I believe the 8.25 has a longer pinion, so a shorter driveline would make sense.
