Rear Disc Conversion

i know the problem got fix already but i would still like to put in my $.02 in for future referances.

when doing a big brake job like this, its best (as stated earlier) to bleed the rear until you get new fluid coming out. i just want to remind everyone that brake fluid doesnt last forever.

if there is moisture in that somehow got into your braking system, then it will lower your brake fluids boiling temp and lessen the effectiveness of the brakes.

its just a perfect opportunity to give yourself a little piece of mind with little added effort.hasta

Haha thanks man!

I bled my XJ I think 6 or 7 times before I fixed the front caliper. Anyway all 4 corners are seeing brand spanking new fluid.

On this same topic, what is the lifespan of brake fluid?

You should change it every 12-18 months due to it being hydroscopic. The moisture not only lowers the boiling point, so you get brake fade earlier, but can rust the inside of lines and bores etc.
