How did you make out with Detours?
Was there web site informative? (www.Detoursusa.com)
Were your emails replied to?
Was the phone answered?

Very cool...see...this is what I was looking for. Interesting how you have incorporated the lower 1/4 guards. That's a good looking piece. We just got moved to Colorado and my wife had my cell phone today. I will be calling by Friday to find out more info. Thank you.

I have heard only good stuff from guys in michigan about the customer service of JCR. If you are willing to pay $1,200 to get some good quick service, expert advice and quick turn around call JCR they can do ya right for allot less than $1,200.

I had not heard of JCR but really like their design as well. Nice to see some alternatives to Poison Spider. I will call JCR by Friday as well. I like JCR's sliders which is good b/c I can kill 2 birds with one stone. I want to talk to Detours about the sliders though. I think they require welding and I don't have one.
2 great options though. I'm very happy. I will definitely report back what I get from talking to both companies. Thanks all for the ideas. I knew there was other stuff out there that I hadn't heard of. Good job.

Give AJ a chance, try his forum again(interaction), I promise you will not be dissappointed with his service, weld quality, craftsmanship, turn-around time, and best of all... price! AJ is a family man, fabs ALL day, by himself, plus spends family time with the wife and daughter. I'm a dad/husband too, so I understand how full his plate is, yeah... I could have ordered from a bigger fab shop/company, but AJ's look was what I wanted, so I was willing to wait a little.

I totally understand. It has got to be extremely difficult to try and make things work as a one man operation. I have never heard anything but good about his stuff and his character. But...I've been trying to get his rock rails for 2 months. I heard nothing from emails or his forum. When he finally replied here, I still didn't know how to order product. I recently made a post on his forum asking him to take my money and inquiring about bumpers. I'm looking to dump close to a grand here and I'm having a hard time doing it. Believe me...I'm bummed out. I think his stuff rocks and he's a helluva nice guy. Things are just hectic right now. Wish they weren't.

The JCR mounts really have alot to be desired, they have alot of nerve calling this the "optional" mount let alone being anywhere as strong as a one-piece bumper.

Detours offers the stiffy system with rock slyders as a bolt on pcs for
short arm/drop bracket lifts.(XJ-2)
If your LA, and its possible to use the system.......then its strictly a
weld on application. Even as a weld on, it can be removed and transfered
to another rig down the road. (proper weld placement)

Just a side note.....I live the same pains as AJ, but you should see my
wife operate the Bridgeport. lol

I personally am not to happy with it, only because Ive got the after market Tail lights and the knob is about 1/4inch away and it makes it really tough to screw or unscrew the pin. I spoke to Terry about that and mentioned i might switch to a latch he said they tried almost every latch out there and eveything would rattle loose. I will be trying a smaller 4 Star locking device, hopefully that will make it a little easier.
Ruggedjeep,
I was wondering if there is a way to keep the swingarm open without it closing on you like the BPI/Poisonspyder has on their arm (some sort of bar/latch). Your rig looks great with that bumper and tlights.
