Ready to order lift.... is this OK?

OK,OK. I keep trying to get away from this trimming thing, but it keeps coming back.

What is involved in trimming to fit these 31" tires. Can I use the stock flares. I don't wanna go with NO flares and don't want to buy a $400 set! I have the flat black stockers and love em.

How hard and how long does it take.

Thanks!
Jason

to run 31s with that lift i dont think you would need to trim at all.. unless its a wide tire.. its too hard to "theorize" backspacing and such... see if you can borrow a set of 31s from someone locally just to eyeball it.. if i put 31s on mine right now i would probably only need to trim the outer edge of the flares, not even any metal trimming.. IIRC you are going with the new leafs in the rear and you should sit a lil higher than i do now.. i can stuff my 30s all day with plenty of room to spare, so i kniow i could run 31s with maybe a lil trimming on the rear flares if at all....

Everyone is right here and i hate to repeat stuff but oh well.

for sure keep that track-bar on the top of your list, with the stock unit your axle will be "off track" with the rest of the vehicle, and don't forget an alignment after the install.

As far as the tires, i had a 3" lift with 31X10.5 on the stock wheels and got a little rubbing when i had the steering wheel turned completely over to either side.

the sway bar links are up to you, and depends on what you plan on doing with the jeep. if you are strapped for cash you can always upgrade them later. im partial to the jks units because they are very high quality, they are adjustable, and are easy to disconnect and connect.

as for the sye i have no clue what vibes would be like with that amount of lift as my jeep came with the 229 so i didnt have to worry about the slip yoke. But i wouldn't think adding shims in the rear would be a bad thing to do

Good choices. I have a '98 with the exact parts you are looking at. Rides steers handles awsome on and off road. Dirk at DPG Offroad set me up, got it to me fast, great guy to deal with. I used the JKS adj trackbar it is stout. Also I used the RE hack n tap SYE and 6* shims on the 8.25 rear axle in mine . No vibes at all, no bump steer better than stock.
