Reader's Rig's

Wow score! looks like rear disc too and i'm sure some other good stuff. why'd he give it up? insurance covered him that well??? man if i ever roll mine even if insurance gives me more than the lotto i'm keepin it and buying a junker and put all the money into the rolled jeep =D

only liability insurance and he couldnt part it out so his parents gave it to me. i have cut the top and drive it through my woods when i get bored, but wont start on the tube work untill next fall cause i will be moving and it would be hard to move just the front half. the rear has discbrakes and a detroit.

Bought this '98 last Tuesday. Got the lift and tires on this past Tuesday night. It's my work in progress.....

I figured I would show a few more of my Turd.
I'm running a 4.5" Rough country lift (I know I know!) 3 years old give me a break. It has 33X12.50X15 BFG mud terrians, resting on crappy chrome cragar rims. I have HD SYE with a front DS in the rear, works pretty well. I just got the bushwackers on right before Christmas.

Jimbo, Any rub with the 33's and the Bushwackers?, I lifted mine 6" and I took my flares off and I rub the sheet metal in the back of my fender.

Just asking to see if I can get a set of Cut Out's.

Thanks. I just got through curing my driveline vibes but I think it'm gonna lift it another 1.5" in the rear and 1.75" in the front. I trimmed the front flares the least I could to eliminate some rubbing but at full tuck and turn it's tearing them up. I do want flares on there so there's my next challenge for now. The bumpers, rockers, winch, and lockers will be the next stage.

As for those still in highschool...If you can put the lifts on jeep or trucks your self then sell your skills at school to your friends, im sure you know some kids whose parents pay well

I have installed a number of sound systems and subs in my friends, brothers, and my own car, and have done a lot of other work. I'm about to install another one infact in the next week or so. I changed my friends calipers on his TJ when he busted it, always have my Jeep apart working on it. Tons of people know that Im a car guy and so I'm always changing peoples flat tires, or they always come to me to jump their cars cause they know I have a ton of stuff (tends to happen a lot in a high school parking lot). Except for some reason I do all this work for others for free. My parents keep telling me to charge people, but I just like doing it.

My shop told me it would be about $800 for slip yoke and 2 inch blocks/spacers installed, I'm doin it myself for less than half the money.

Karl, You are one lucky bastard with that Jeep, I wish I knew some people who flipped their rides and have their parents give it to me.

right on.......im a junior.........right before christmas i changed a flat tire for this girl on her land rover (shes so hot and mad rich)........a few days later i found a thank you card in my mailbox with $50!

Just b/c they are in High school does not mean the parents fund it all. I lifted mine junior year and i paied for the vehicle myself 94 xj$4000) and the RE lift and 31's and everything else i did to it. Now i am on my 95 and paying for all of it smods myself. some Kids just have the skill and the work ethic to get their own money.

I'd have to agree. I'm in high school as well. I've paid for my lift, tires, and everything else. I also have a payment book that will be my friend for aobut 2.5 more years, I've been making payments for about 3/4 of a year. It's not as difficult as you think, even when you factor in minimum wage. I don't have any bills like the house, electrical, etc. All I have is the Jeep payment and then the rest is for the mods.

In the rear the cut outs make a big difference since you have to cut the hell out of the body, I wasn't the biggest fan of that idea. You should really look into getting a set of bumpstops too. I do like the flares because it opens the fenders up pretty good and my Jeep does not covered in mud everytime I drive the thing.

Well put my friend, well put.

So if you cut up the rear fenders so much does water get inside to that open space between the body and inside pannels? any pics of the rear fenders? I do not think i could chop that much off on my DD.
