Complete custom bolt-in turbo diesel powertrain for Jeep XJ Cherokee or Wagoneer. I built this complete package over the last three years and now the chassis is falling apart at the seams. This is a strong running and very tourqey build up. I built this setup using a 1981 Nissan SD22 diesel engine with new glow plugs, new starter, custom intake and exhaust manifolds, single belt custom serpentine belt system with P/S, 140A large frame GM alternator, and air pump to vacuum out crankcase fumes (full PCV system with oil separator). The fuel control system is custom built by me (no electronics) and is fully adjustable for altitude and performance. A fully rebuilt Mitsubishi TC05-10a turbo provides up to 20 PSI of boost, and breathes through a K&N cone filter. The Centerforce DFX clutch kit is enclosed in a custom built bellhousing, and ties the engine to a Borg-Warner T5 5spd transmission. The transfer case is a New Process NP231 with 2.73:1 low range gearing. The engine has maybe 200k miles on it, the transmission maybe 100k miles, and the transfer case has about 60k miles. The finished powertrain has about 10k miles on it. All is fully functional, and with minimal work can be test run for any buyer (I took out my optima batteries and electric fuel lift pump, as well as a few other peripherals). The Jeep it is in has almost 400k miles of abuse on it and is falling apart. I hate to get rid of it, but I am buying land and will need all my time and resources to build a home, so it would sit for the next five years waiting for a donor chassis. This complete powertrain is being sold as-is and the price is not negotiable- this is a great deal for what you get, and all the money you will save in fuel. I averaged 35 mpg and got almost 42mpg on the highway. With 4.11 gearing in the diffs, I could comfortably cruise at 70 mph on the highway. Custom shortened rear driveshaft and lengthened front driveshaft included. The cooling mist water/methanol injection system is for sale separately for $1000, and the guage cluster (EGT, 0-4k rpm tachometer, oil pressure, water temp, and voltage) is also for sale separately for $500. Entire vehicle (you haul) for $8K including axles, exhaust and all of above.
