I haven't been active here for a long time but I have recently decided to re-prioritize my social activities and "Jeeping" is back near the top. I currently own 3 Jeeps:
1943 Ford GPW - the parts of the body that haven't been hacked up are rusting away and I still don't know if the engine will turn, but all the major pieces are there. Needs a complete restoration.
1988 YJ - mostly stock, I heard some bad noises from the crank bearings and immediately stopped driving it. That was 15 years ago. It's getting a stroker next year.
1999 XJ - Andy's Purple Is The New Chrome. I haven't even come close to utilizing this Jeep's capabilities. Just taking the dogs for a ride around the block can make my day. Once my son is a little older (he's 7 months now) I will be taking it out more often.
I have a 2010 VW Jetta TDI daily driver. 40 mpg vs. 12 mpg in the XJ.
I have left the PC vs. Mac war and now only use linux and android.
