well im reviving an old thread because of some updates to my project.

im starting to realize that im taking an amazingly perfect DD and tearing it down then possible trashing it. and my nephew is going to be getting his license in under a year, i doubt we can afford to get him a nice DD by that time. but "I" can build me up a running DD/ beater by then. so im secretly planning to give him my current jeep. and that means i need to find a project vehicle. right now i'll tell you im sorta tired of XJ's its just too much trouble to find what i want. dont get me wrong i would jump on a 97+ 2dr that has a 5spd, but im considering alternatives. im thinking SAS's rangers/toyotas, or maybe an MJ if the price/optioning is right. im still planning on building up a multi-purpose gofast, but could wheel vehicle.

Rally XJs can win. We have trophies from a few years back to prove it. Forget the 4 banger and go with 4 .0 and run CRS ProductionGT Class. (same as Performance Stock but allows 6 cyl and/or 4wd). The turbo guys have to run a restrictor but we do not. Go for as close to 300 hp and 3,000 pound weight as you can get and smoke the rice rockets! Run new venture 3550 five speed or the new Wrangler 6 speed, 29' tire, 5.13 or higher # gear with TrueTrack posi, 300pound front springs at stock ride height and 2.5 shocks" ...good luck!
