Questions for smokers

Started at 17 and quit at 35. Been 5 years now, in those 5 years I have smoked about 4 cigars and regret it every time. It only took me 100 attempts to quit! finally the patch worked.

If I had my way, there would be a ban on smoking in ALL public places. I get so tired of walking into a restaurant and turning around leaving because I don't want my kids to have to smell like smoke or coat thier lungs just because they wanted to eat dinner.

It would make sense then that this is why tobacco companies target teens – even though they say that they don’t.

If you are a smoker, how old were you when you started? :smoker:

Can you give one example (currently) where tobacco companies are targeting teens?

its just like Abercrombie & Fitch in a way. there ads show models in there 20 somethings, yet teenagers account for most of the sales because they want to emulate those in the ads. the tobacco co's do the same thing. thats why they've never lost a lawsuit that tries to prove they target kids. kids just want to emulate the decade of people ahead of them.

Marlboro is the largest, best selling brand in the world. Do you really think those cowboys are 20-something models? They are all about 50.

Think folks. Kids smoke because we all tell them not too. It is a little more complex than an advertising campaign.
