Question about welds on Thorley Header

I want my Lsc

I recently purchased a Thorley header for my i-6 and have a question about the welds: they are inside the pipe - not on the outside where they wouldn't restrict flow.

Isn't the point of having bigger exhaust pipes to have more flow to pull the exhaust gasses out? And the welds restricting the flow (quite a bit in some ports) is not ideal, or am I just misinformed?

Thanks,
Carl

Umm, have a picture of said welds?

Sorry, the header was about 30 miles away at my garage. These pics aer with a crappy old camera but should give you an idea of what I am talking about.

these pics show the insides of the tubes, all of the welds are like this;

These two aren't the greatest, but if you look they are only welded from the inside;

thats how the majorty of headers are welded, including the factory manifold....

id put it up to your head, i bet the tubing they used is alot bigger than the exhaust ports, and it wont even get in the way
