Any recommends on a good floor jack? Prefer 2+ton as it will mostly be used for my XJ and MJ. But also for my old Dub and some of the family's cars.
Semi-recently saw an Arcan 2.5 ton steel/alum jack at costco for 100$, but willing to check out other options.

I've got one of the low profile 2 ton Harbor Freight jobs that I use on everything at home.

The nice thing is it has almost 2 feet of lift for the Jeep and the GMC and is low enough to fit under the wife's HHR.

I do keep forgetting I have HF coupons, but I do like Costco's "return policy"

the weekly HF ad has been having the 20" tall, low profile, 2.5 ton/3 ton (used to only be the 2.5 tons in 20" tall, now they have a new 3 ton as well) jacks for 69$. thats a killer deal. I mean auto zone has those cheap 2.5 tons for like the same price and they are nowhere near as good. the newer ones go to 20", the other 3 ton jacks they have go to 18.25. I just grabbed one of these for my dads garage. good little floor jack. I am going to go back and grab one for myself since I have a pile of those weekly ads That extra 1.75" is worth the extra money- thats what she said.

iwannadie-I agree up to a point. I love my American made tools, trust me I have more than I want to think about. However, tools to me are there to make me money. So if one is cheaper and does the same job then I make money faster. Therefore on some stuff Harbor Freight is just as good whether made in China or not. Plus, I see a lot of stuff there in the same packaging and the same color I bought off of expensive trucks for far less money...makes me think.

The Jack pictures is what I have and i really like it. Its not stupid heavy that it makes it a pain to move around and it goes sufficiently high enough to lift my XJ. It also goes low enough to get under regular and lowered cars. I have had zero issues with it and I am quite happy with it. I have had it for close to 2 yrs, I think, with hard use and it doesn't miss a beat.

And it looks EXACTLY like the harbor freight one, except its red and not blue.

Yup. I bought that jack because I wanted a lightweight jack for our road trip across the country. It turned into my main jack when I got home and still is 3 years later.

Had a couple old school craftsman jacks that gave up on me in a couple years, and even a big dollar made in America jack (don't remember the brand) That just decided to piss out all the fluid one day. Go figure.

About a year and a half ago, me and a friend bought comparable jacks, I bought the craftsman, he bought the harbor freight... My craftsman (similar to the one posted above, but with the solid front roller), has been nothing but problems. Damn near every single time ive gone to use it, it has failed to lift, or required to be bled to get it to work.... I have returned it to sears for a new one, which also started doing the same thing on about its 5th or 6th lift....

Craftsman jacks, i will NEVER buy another one.... yes the machining and build quality is nicer.... but the parts that do the work suck asshole.

My buddies cheap harbor freight, was much cheaper than my craftsman, and as far as i know, never failed to lift. I recently got tired of the craftsman jacks game, and it has been sitting outside in my driveway ever since I bought the HF replacement for it.... which i am VERY HAPPY WITH...

This is one of maybe 5 tools from harbor freight that I like, I am in no way a harbor freight fan.... but their floor jacks are spot on!

I've researches this issue... looks like you basically have two choices 1) pick your shitty made in China jack and just buy it, hope it lasts more than a year 2) become a crack dealer to pay for the Hein-Werner or Brunnhoelzl jack that you really want.

Unfortunately, the only other way I know to get a decent one is to find an old US made Lincoln or Lincoln-made Craftsman at a yard sale.

No, you buy a harbor freight one for dirt cheap and it works. And it will continue to work until you drop it from an airplane.
