Q about Leaf Springs...

Jesus dude blocks are blocks some get away with a 2" block for years before they have problems. But they will have issues. Trust the collective knowledge on here and do it right the first way. But if you must put blocks in make sure you post how crappy the ride is, then post how the extra axlehop you get has broken an axleshaft and inverted you leafsprings and cost you about 300 bucks so we can say "I told you so."

The link I posted is not the easiest way to get 3"s of lift but it's the cheapest. Look around you can find deals for all the stuff needed with exceptions of the center bolts and probally the clamps. Go to a junkyard and get a set of s-10, dakota, MJ, leaves. There are others that fit and may provide a better ride but I will let you do that reasearch.

While you are at the junkyard find a set of ZJ (95ish Grand Cherokee) front coils. Those on thier own will get you 1" of lift. Keep looking at the junkyard for some 94ish GMC/Chevy rear shackles. They are longer than stock. I think they are about an 1" longer but don't quote me on that.

Next you can find 2" coil spacers on here or a local jeep club for about 25 bucks a pair. So just in the major materials you have about 50-100 dollars in parts. Find a better riding 3" kit out there for 100 bucks and I'll eat my shoes.

We are trying to steer you in there right way but you're pulling hard to the left and making it difficult.

I've gone through almost every JY within 50 miles, and they are all empty. I live in the most expensive area to live in in the US. The economy is s**t, everybody is jobless, and everybody is looking for the cheapest way to do everything. I couldn't find any leaf packs, coils, switches, seats, headliners, intake manifolds, not even an antenna. All of the JY's are full of shells.

A little flex with the stock suspension.

Stock height 2 years ago, before one of the leaves cracked on the driver side, and two on the rear.

Check on Craigslist for people that are parting those vehicles out. You don't have to find them at the junkyards. Check all the regional sale sections here on NAXJA. You can find the stuff you just have to expand your search.

The parts are out there in the classifieds and on Craigs List. I got my S-10 leaf springs off Craig's List and my 3" coils here in the NAC classifieds....and I have a set of upcountry coils in the NAC classifieds (placed today) - they would give you a little lift.

I couldn't find any write-ups with that search. Any other ideas for searches?

Check out wither Bronco 2, S-10 or dakota leafs. They are the 3 that are generally used for a bastard pack.

I check craigslist daily for parts. Never get anything. Everybody is trying to sell their cars for ridiculous prices.

They are TRYING to sell for ridiculous prices - make an offer. I got my S-10 leaf packs for $40 - they wanted $60 - and I had passed on a couple guys that wanted over $100. Its a buyers market out there not a sellers market. Cash in hand brings the deals.

Nobody is selling parts, all vehicles. Everybody is autozoning parts and fixing the vehicles themselves too sell. I'm currently trying to sell my Code 3 MX7000 lightbar. My alternator couldn't handle is unless the motor is on, and I need to leave my light on while on scene. That will give me some cash to play with.

Since it wasn't announced I have a message to relay...

Dude go to your local pick n pull yard and grab another set of used XJ springs and some 2" Coil spacers and do a budget boost. I did and it set around 2.5-3".

Way to encourage members.... :wstupid:

I don't see your name in red you are a forum user not a member. Listen to these guys they know what they are talking about. Is there not a pic-a-part in your area? You should be able to find dakota's and s-10's in damn near every yard. Buy new packs and problem solved. Also, you know your alternator has nothing to do with lights not working when your engine is off right?

When I said "Way to encourage members" I meant, way to encourage people to become members. The yards around here are almost empty. The alternator couldn't charge my battery enough to run the lights with the engine off. It barely ran the lights at 2k rpms. Sorry, I definitely worded that wrong, but I don't know how else to say it. I'm switching over to all LEDS soon. Forget rotators and halogens

You've been around this long I think you know how some of these guys are. They'll give you a hard time and usually don't mean anything by it. You need a good battery when running a bunch of lights anyways. I didn't mean to sound like an ass i was just giving you a hard time with the rest of them! :D
