"Proving Grounds" so to say

Just got back from my weekend up at Drummond Island, and it seems like the couple of places I stopped to check out (shop wise) seemed to have there own "proving grounds" where they could diagnose problems or just see how the latest mod went.

So I got to thinking, my family has some land behind our house that is mostly field we own and pretend to mow, so after thinking I talked the rents into letting me build this "proving ground" so I can figure out whats going on without driving to the Mounds or anywhere,
really just somethin to screw around with whne I get too bored and too broke to actually go somewhere

I have a picture in mind but just for fun how would you guys do it, suggestions, sketches, anythings welcome

Keeping in mind I will have access to a bucket loader lots and lots of dirt to build up or dig out, tons of sizable tree trunks, a handfull of rocks, and any other thing you guys can suggest (keeping in mind im in Michigan, not too much easy access to rocks) over all size thinking of keeping it small-ish bout 15'-40'

TIA for anything you can suggest or offer, have fun with it

I built something similar once. Had a decent sized pit that filled up with water, one side was a steep drop off into it and the other side was a slope with logs placed about 2' apart. It had three small hills that were steep enough and close enough together to make getting over them tricky. I did it all in less than 1/2 acre.

Some of my buddies and I played around on it once or twice, but after that the weeds grew up around it and I forgot about it. We ended up filling in the pit because it was stagnant and full of mosquito larvea. The hills are still there, but hidden by waist high weeds that are impossible to mow because of the new terrain.

The pit was dry in these pictures, it is hard to see the terrain because of all of the weeds.

Yea our field seems to grow weeds like no other, until you mess with the ground, we put our pool in and the ground around it got tore up, still hasnt grown back a year and half later, thanks for the pics, thats a nice lookin XJ
