Project New Gen Comanche

Haulin' stuff...........

The troy scout is nothing but honest -- I hauled 3 loads of "stuff" to the money pit today. FWIW, my spare mount consists of several wraps of a ratchet strap. :sunshine:

Lmfao. Didn't know you quit the force to be a comedian

Well, you left the door wide open brutha.......

I didn't really build this one to sell..... just kinda had all the pieces laying around and saw a trailer I could salvage from so what the heck. I'm probably gonna replace that Chevy bed trailer I built a while back..... I think anyway. :dunno:

If someone is interested in buying this MJ trailer...... lemme know. I still gotta go through the title process though....

What's wrong with the shivee trailer?

I sort of kicked myself for selling the 'Manche bed. It towed nice behind the XJ, I could see out the side mirrors, it was light compared to the 'ol F-250 trailer. But, the XJ is not a truck.

When I need a trailer for heavy work, I'll be content with the full size box, and borrow a truck to pull it.

Nothin'. Just ugly and big. Figured if I'm gonna keep a trailer around, the MJ trailer is if nothing else, cooler.

Used it for the first time today..... An MJ guy needed a bunch of stuff hauled off.

Lots of "squat"

Probably gonna ditch using the KM2's I got in favor of these:

31x10.50x15 Wrangler Duratrac's on MB Motorsports "V-Drive" wheels. Smokin' deal on Craigslist! They've got less than 500 miles on them.

I think the DuraTrac's will be a much better daily driver tire, particularly in the winter over the KM2's and I like the darker look of these wheels over the silver TJ Ravines mounted to the KM2's I was gonna put on the truck.

.

I want 33" duratracs. I also saw that they make a 35x12.5 equivalent for 16" rims do I might go to that after I can send my Icons over to Champion

Not sure I like those rims, but the Duratracs kick butt. I put a set of 33s on Cindy's jeep, much better in every way than the old-school MTRs.

Icon Quartz's are like my favorite jeep rim. Add an inch to the outer edge and beadlock them and it would be pure tits

Yeah the wheels wouldn't have been my first choice but I still kinda dig 'em. And for $400...... I wasn't feeling real picky. Looked up the tires and wheels on Discount Tire's website (where the guy bought them) and it came to $1100 not including tax, mount & balance.....

X2...... Killer look when OEM wheels get bead lock modded.

I'd love them for that price :D

Title work is done for the new trailer and got it registered properly..... took it out to see how it does being pulled by the MJ. Worked VERY well, towed perfectly. But the 250K mile engine didn't care for it much.....

Lord help me.........

Brought another one home. Sort of a barn-find........

Guy advertised a Jeep truck for salvage, ad said it had an "Eliminator" sticker on the bed sides........ had to go check it out. Glad I did!

'90 Eliminator non-A/C truck, 4.0 and AX15 with 154K miles on it. Engine was torn down to the short block. Unfortunately, the owner inherited the truck when his brother died and he couldn't tell me why the engine was torn down.

Completely un-touched original truck, never wrecked and rust free except for a silver-dollar sized spot on one corner of the fuel filler door opening.

Factory skids, D44 w/ limited slip, and the usual Eliminator options.

Interior is super nice. Seats are near perfect as is the carpet with OEM "Jeep" floor mats. Headliner fabric was torn out but otherwise the interior is all there and in great shape. The jack looks like it's never been used and still fastened in it's proper location. OEM AM/FM stereo and OEM shifter knob. The glove box contained all the original manuals - I'm hoping among the other papers I'll find the original window sticker.........

All the exterior rubber is pretty dry-rotted but the body is near mint. Originally black, it's got severe sun-burned paint. A small dent to the driver's door, another to the passenger side cab panel behind the door is all. The bed is as nice as I've ever seen on an unrestored truck. The fender wells don't have any dents, the tail gate looks to have never had anything heavy loaded on it and it's totally straight. The front bed panel isn't banged up or dented and the top edge is arrow straight. It's like it was a commuter truck that never hauled anything. None of the skid plates have a scratch on them.

Still has all 5 of the Eliminator wheels as well.

Plan is to fix or replace the engine, replace all fluids, flush out the gas tank, replace the rotten muffler, replace the dry rotted tires, and get it back to running/driving condition. I'll probably sell it at that point......... unless I get the wild hair to have it painted.

This truck has the potential to be nicer than my '91 Eliminator........
