Project Geosynchronous Orbit

Interesting. I know that long-travel isn't your goal, but what happens if you rotate the pinion 1* up? I wonder how much more travel that'd give you.

Id have to go back and check, I don't remember. 5-6* rings a bell.
If this is the case I'm with Anthony but even more so, rotate the pinion up 2°-3°, assuming that the axle end is limiting you not the t-case end.
You're not planning on driving this on the street and you'll have full hydro so a 2.5°-3° caster isn't going to kill you. Mines set right about that and I'm very happy with it. Or as much as I know you won't want to do this, cut and rotate. 3 hours now will save you a lot later on.

Grind out the yokes on the shaft and the axle for a couple extra degrees. You could also pick up one of those offset joints from Tom Woods to gain some more droopage.

I also agree though, who cares if your caster is like 2 or 3*, its not gunna make a big difference in our trail rig applications. That's plan my at least.

I'd like to avoid that if at all possible.

On a different note, my awesome girlfriend got me a bitchin anniversary present.

BTW your buildin a custom mj a little floor massaging shouldnt be a issue, get everything in place and make changes then, for now get them mounts burned in and get that bitch on its own wieght

Yup have a ruffstuff too.

Sorry but you have you seen one Ross? ARB is higher clearance, actually protects the bolt heads, and doesn't have a vulnerable drain plug.

I'm debating selling my ruffstuff for another ARB cover for the back.

It doesn't increase ground clearance, countersunk bolts are cooler/more rigid of a setup, and the drain plug is a gay useless option anyways.

ARB covers are also too flashy for my taste, I like the plain-jane-get-the-job-done look.

.!.:D.!.

Ross's thoughts on diff covers>Colin's thoughts on diff covers

Not higher ground clearance numb nuts, more clearance for steering. My tie rod hit my ruffstuff cover on my 44.

Loved my 44 ruffstuff covers but the ARBs look like an upgrade to me.

balh blhab go get gdurnk hapy new ryas

the arb cover is nice had one on my 30 had more room for my steering then the stock cover . the drain was nice so u could reuse the oil .arb fell apart after every run.

Rotated the pinion up a bit to keep the yoke from binding on the axle side. Ended up with 2.5* of caster from 4*.

Also fully welded up the crossmember and link mounts. Plan is to box them all in tomorrow and weld up the axle side mounts and box them in as well.

Boxed in all the mounts on the crossmember with 3/16" and welded them in. Would have finished it all, but Carmelo stopped by so we welded up the tubes on the front 60 and the remaining tube on the rear 60.

Tomorrow is my last day of vacation, and im gonna try to get the coil mounts all set and the axle side mounts done and boxed in.
