actually the ca on the stuffed side moves up more cause of the articulation, i have that issue

Got all the link mounts tacked in.
Ross also came over to help weld the tubes up on the rear D60. We made a mess of gear oil so only got one side done. I'll have to clean that up tomorrow. He did save me some time and gave me some UBEs for it though since they won't work for his 14b.

i assume your gonna weld the inner mount to the cast? all looks good thoughGot all the link mounts tacked in.

Either tie the inner mount to the outer or cut back the casting and weld it to the actual axle tube. That cast isn't the most quality to weld to

(Stealing an idea from spidr's builds here...) what I would do is weld the mount to the cast, then gussets from the mount to the cast, then add a strip of 1/4 that goes all the way around the tube and is wleded to the tube as well as to the mount tabs where the tab to tab gussets/webs would normally go. Maybe a plate from the top of the inner mount tab to the bottom of your coil perch as well.

I think he plans on boxing the mounts some once he is ready to burn it all in. I doubt he will want to cut the casting right there, as his last HP44 broke in half right there due to the casting being cut for the mounts.
like begster says you cut back the cast it will BREAK even more quickly with colin jumping it

Yup plan is just to preheat/postheat and weld the mount in, then box it all in.

Cleaned up the mess of gear oil and stripped the rear axle.
Dropped the front axle down as far as the front driveshaft would let me for a whopping 8" of travel. I might be able to squeeze another inch or so if I rotate the pinion up. I'm probably just gonna live with it because I don't want to drop coin on a 40*+ driveshaft.
