I like the fact your father has so many 440s you can just "mock one up" while building a couple others.

This is going to be awesome.

Oh and do what Rob said.

Happy freakin birthday, how is the 440 going

man that first picture makes it look small. but I guess when you look at those other pics its pretty close.

It does make it look small, but when you see it in person you'll say otherwise

They don't call it a "big block" for no reason.

Just Sayin'

That would be SICK

 I know right? Luckily I have that option or I'd be losing time right now.

Thanks for the b-day wishes everyone!

T-pain came down and gave me a hand. And what better b-day present from my girlfriend and best friends than a pistol grip for my NV4500? Ross did a KICK ASS job machining the steel. Fits unbelievably perfect inside my hand.

Opened up the firewall a bit for the passenger side head and more room for the bellhousing.

Here you can see the NV4500 position with the Lakewood blowproof bellhousing. Slave cylinder mounting will be an issue, but I might try to see if I can make a custom throwout fork or something.

NP205 somehow magically fit perfectly between my existing driver's side seat mounts . Got real lucky there.

And between the next two pics you can see it hangs just about 1" below the frame rails. The NV4500 doesn't hang below at all since I moved the entire drivetrain up 3-4" from the 4.0 configuration.

And just a shot looking forward from the rear axle to show how massive the 205 is haha.

Next weekend my goal is to have motor mounts done, my existing crossmember modified to work (NV4500 mount looks to be exactly above it), and an additional crossmember behind the NP205 built and mounted to the NP205 for extra support.

And for reference, this combination gives me a choice of 1:1, 2:1, 2.72:1, and 5.44:1 gearing combos with a low-low crawl of over 150:1. Combine that would 500 lb-ft of torque at the crank and I'm pretty sure there won't be a rock I can't climb over because of lack of power/gearing .

Im a good lookin fella

Glad I could lend a hand for the day on your bday. Still positively very amazed at how well it all fits

Looks so awesome. That thing is definitely a beast, Maybe it's the picture and maybe other people do it and I haven't seen it yet but are you gonna run the 231 flipped up like that? How will your shifter for it work out? Also wont it leak from the breather? I'm sure you have it all planned if you are but I was just curious.

Gorgeous.

Seriously. I can't believe it fell into place like that

Thanks Eric.

Yup, and it's a Chevy 241. Shifter will not be a big deal, not sure where people are getting into an issue with that.

If you look at the third picture, you can see the breather is right at the top of the case now, instead of offset to the drivers side. 231 must be different? :dunno:

Now that I look at it the breather may be in the same spot, that works out pretty slick for you. Only reason the shifter for it makes me wonder is because it's up so high already making linkage will have to be tight and compact. but pictures can be deceiving.

Does he know about the GM steering column in the same truck? :anon:

 Does your father know you brought a GM product onto his property?

I visited yesterday with my schoolbus length GM vehicle :shiver:

Was only able to get the motor mounts done since I just worked today on it. Yesterday was shitty weather, so I just made some templates and fixed the headlights on my truck.

I plan on completly boxing the block side tabs in, and am debating either doing just one plate on top of the frame side tabs or doing a gusset perpendicular to each tab since getting the mounts in/out isn't the easiest thing in the world.

Overall shot.

Passenger side header clearance is tight, but it does fit and can be removed/replaced. It looks like it's touching the shock tower in this picture, but it has ~1/4" of space.

When I was ready to head in, I closed the hood for shits and giggles. I think the valve covers are going to clear the hood surprisingly. I'll have to wait and see.
