if you have to ask... :eyes:
many recommendations for theirs.
Same one I run. I do occasionally catch it on the edge of a rock and I need to back up and reposition. It's pretty stout though, never had a concern about damaging my pinion while running this guard.
you also have the nice nodular housing. that can take much more abuse.

thanks for the opinions. shave is still on the docket along with ring gear protection. but ill reevaluate.... ground clearance being important for 35s.

EDIT: got steel sitting in the garage.

I drag my 9 on everything, the stock housings are pretty beef.

I still have a ruffstuff pinion guard I got 2 years ago that I have yet to put on. Nice piece though.

not for my rig... but pretty happy with how these turned out. thread extenders for a buddys TJ that needs a motor mount lift. i love lathe work.

super easy. but for some reason no one here can make 2 parts the same. you should see the bungs people make for our baja car. allllll different sizes. lol. and no one has good surface finish. i just set up the auto feed and let it eat. we have a CNC lathe, but i havent had the time to sit down and get it going.

havent had much time on our mill either, with most things ive worked on lately, its just been faster to chuck an endmill in the bridgeport. but i know ill breeze through my class on it next semester and work on my own stuff. i can write code by hand, and we have mastercam to idiot proof it... easy A.

had to draw up my own retainer plates...

these two plates together measure just under 300 thou... ive got a ton of 1.4" laying around (yes john, i got one for you), so im just going to cut a single plate and call it good.

interesting... i dont like it.

i have two of each of these retainer plates... the notched retainer plates are bent. the larger one doesnt actually contact anything. my guess is that it was supposed to take up the width of the backing plates for the drum brakes? why it is needed, i do not know.

Don't some people do this when they adapt the caliper brackets from Lincolns or whatever? I remember something like that but I went with RuffStuff brackets so I never paid much attention to the spacer issue.
