Project: Blacksheep- 90 wagoneer, low wide, ugly

well, i am NOT going to Georgia, she wasnt a big fan of the whole scenario. so boulder CO it is. which means the jeep is getting a BIG makeover, if i dont destroy it by end of summer lol

we wont be living IN boulder. she will be going to school there but plan is to live a lil closer to denver

I love this Jeep. Ugly as sin, but it's purpose built. Keep wheeling the piss out of it.

What are your thoughts on the D&C cage? I'd really like to get something just for the safety aspect.

Thanks man. About ti get uglier. Lol.
The d and c cage is a great 'just in case ' cage. Add some supports abs gussets and you have a great repeated use cage lol

Ill post some pics here in about a week or two, jeep is gettin some big changes as well as some small ones

I'll post some small changes pics. New belly armor. Wider stance (spacers).

The big stuff will have to wait til 'completed'

The price does not reflect what I paid for them. I rounded DOWN the prices from vendors/randy'sR&P to get the prices. As far as install/housings i just used average price to have a "local guy" do them...
Here is how I figured it....
FRONT AXLE:
HPD30 -$150
4.56 gears -$265
Yukon Alloys -$650
Solid Diff Cover - $80
Spartan locker $250
1.5” .120 steering - $300
Installation -$ 150
Truss -$100 (needs install)
TOTAL = 2,245

REAR AXLE:
8.25 29 spline - $100
4.56 gears - $ 330
Powertrax no slip - $450
Diff Cover - $70
Installation -$150
Total = $1,100

Total in axles = 3,345 + spares

Im in the wheel tire combo about $800 but retail price is a tad higher.....

Im probably going to regret this but...

Before I sold my old 30 and built the 44...

Old D30:
HPD30 - Free (Factory)
Truss - $100
1.5" DOM steering - $300
WJ conversion ~$500
Yukon Alloys - $650
4.56 - $275
install - $200 (local price)
Loc-rite - $275
Solid Diff cover - $80

Total for front: $2,380

8.8:

8.8 disc axle - $200
Super 8.8 kit - $550
spring perches - $40
Solid Cover - $80
full carrier detroit - $600
4.56 - $275
Install - $150

Total for rear: $1,895

Total for both: $4,275

Looking back I feel like a complete tard for spending that much money on a 30...

Now I have a built 44 in the front...

Front 44:

Axle- $150
Alloy shafts- $550
detroit - $600
axle brackets - $300
1.5" DOM Steering $300
4.56 - $275
Ball joints, seals, bearings - $300
Install - $150
Truss: $100
Hubs: $100

Total for 44: $2,825 (Now I feel like a tard for spending that on a 44...)

So, in all, my dumbass has spend almost $7,000 on axles in my Jeep. After all of that I still have a D44 in the front and a Ford 8.8 in the back.

I need to stop now while I'm ahead...

ya luckily I dont have that much into it :D but thats what it would be....ridiculous

think im on my belly much?

the tapered front is gonna be really helpful, thats usually what i catch on and get in weird spots
78e42027.jpg

this skid sits just under 2" higher than the last one. so the extra clearance is gonna be great...adding the tcase armor will be a breeze too

new belly height is: 19"
rocker height is: 22.5"
WB is 102"
looking to improve those numbers slightly in next few weeks..

Jeep got a little wider as well.

its not near done. gonna be a good amount of tube and some sheet metal welded in this saturday. figured i was killin the corners and header panel pretty bad so redoing all the welds with the big ass miller and adding a hell of a log of gussets and supports....

with the plan for tube, ill be gaining roughly 9" of clearance at the corners :D
and with the spacers in the front now too, im definitely wider, just need to skoot the front forward a bit

DANG thats wide!
LMK how those unit bearings hold up. I am wondering how going much wider will hurt them. The inside of my rim is even with the back of the rotor, how about yours?
