So here I am again, another friggen jeep. This is looking to be my last year to wheel in Colorado for a while since I will most likely be moving. I have decided to take this jeep on all the trails that I shouldnt before I leave, and make the most of what I can.

After wheeling a few different set-ups, and with a variety of people, i have found things that I do and dont like. I have learned a lot about what works for me and how I wheel. my goal is to impliment those things and wheel the piss out of it....

the overall objective is to stay low and wide, while maintaning reliability and saftey. Here is the progress of this jeep, as much as this thread is a record of changes for me, I hope it is at least entertaining for you...

The goals for this build are to keep it super low, super wide, and super safe. Like everything else, I will change my mind several times as to specifics, but this is the overall idea. On to the madness..........

Here is where I started. 1990 Wagoneer with the following specs:
4.0 Auto 182K
NP 242 w/Tom woods Sye and CV rear shaft
RE 3.5" Superflex lift. Adj. lowers and tracbar
Quick Disco's
29spline 8.25 w/powertrax no-slip
HP30
33" BFG A/T's on soft 8 rims
Carr Light bar
she looked like this:

and first trip out, on spring creek, lookin small and ugly.....

now it was time for some changes....
first up was the free sub and amp combo. (the sub has since been replaced with a 12" JL)

Then I ditched the waggy front end and got the XJ look going:

After that was done, I started to remove the "woodgrain" and get it to one color

Here I am test fitting some 35's to see how it will sit. You can also see the SFF Sliders I installed as well.

having had a few white jeeps already I decided to go with a metallic charcoal paint (roof still needs done)

This is when the fun really starts with this build. The real parts start piling up and getting worked in. (at this point I have also ditched the quick discos as I hate having sway bars)
Here is a quick snapshot of the parts in the garage.
-1/4" plate belly skid
-front half of a D&C cage.
-15x11.5" Beadlocks

I repainted the beadlocks to give em a clean look when they go on....
satin black wheel

'aluminum' lock ring

these are gonna widen the jeep quite a bit

look good too:thumbup:

Now it was time to go see Josh over @ SFF for some much needed axle love
Here is what Josh ordered and installed for me, and at a great price:
Front: 4.56 gears, install kit, Spartan lunchbox locker
Rear: 4.56 gears, install kit

The gears and front locker helped a lot with the power issues i was having on the road and also made wheeling a lot easier.
while there i also tossed on my Solid D30 diff cover

Then bored I got the front part of the cage welded up

I also scrapped the horrible BFG A/T's for some 35" (crappy tread) MTZ's until i get Kevlars for the beadlocks.

Having only been out twice in the jeep since I got it, I knew i needed to get some better steering to keep the jeep reliable.
I called up Josh @ SFF again to see what he could do for me. He ended up making some really beefy stuff for me. 1-1/2" tube running 3/4-5/8 heims. This steering is pure sex and leaves me with all the confidence in the world in not bending anything.
had to take it out and test it! (independence tail)

I also picked up a cheap 8.25 diff cover and got it installed.

And bringing us up to date so far is the headlights. I tossed the blacked out housings for some high reflective H4 housings. Paired with my HID's, the light gain is awesome!

ya ill be running wheel spacers too, so itll be another 1.5" wide each side. not too bad for a lil 30, should be fun

ebay, looked cool during day, absolute crap at night. thought it wouldnt be that bad, but i gave em away. they sucked....horribly...

new housings.....

And I guarantee you'll be saying the same thing with those housings.

Why get rid of the woody look? I love that look, as well as the wagoneer quad lights.

see above pic...better than stock and thats all i care about. im not a light nazi....it was a cheap upgrade....

i ditched the woody look because i couldnt stand it. I HATE woodgrain anything. especially if its all the way down the side of the jeep. and the 4 headlights are even worse! just not my cup of tea---at all

Don't get those light housings wet. They leak and turn brown. Other than that I've had no problem with mine. Those housings coupled with a harness upgrade and 100w bulbs make a HUGE difference!

ya i imagine ill end up with some moisture in there. but for $27 shipped im not too worried about buying another set or ruining these ones lol...
cheap upgrades (even if they arent super duper amazing top of the line nazi approved) are always fun :D

E.A.D. flores. your comments are not wanted or entertained with me. id rather you not post here and keep my aggrevation level a lot lower. thank you

What's wrong with spray paint?!?! It sure as hell will cost me less to fix the scratches on my XJ when I wheel it. My XJ is not for posing!! Saves me money and if done right, looks good.
