Progress on my junk

Past few weekends have been productive.

Two weekends ago the JCR sliders went on, they are most excellent quality, wish I had done them before doing the Rubicon trail! Better late than never.

Jes and I got the bumper on last weekend, and today at the Jeep Fest I scored the Smittybuilt XR8 for $259.00!

Next weekend the Dana 44 with 4.56 gears and Detroit locker is going in and hopefully the following weekend I'll have the Lockrite and gears in the D30. Just in time for the summer season!!

I was skepical at first too, but the research and first hand reports I got helped me decide to go for it. For that price how can you go wrong? Besides that, it's something you hope you never HAVE to use!

Good pick up with the Smittybuilt winch at the show this weekend. I almost pulled the trigger on that when I was there today. Serves me right for going with the old ball and chain. Damn economy.

Yeah I took cash out of my vacation time to buy it. Times are tight right now, but the one thing that keeps my spirits up is going up to the mountains and wheeling during the summer. So it was worth doing.

Ed,

Looks great! I ended up going back there and picking up the winch also after you told me you got it for $260! Was really hoping it wouldn't rain today so that I could get the bumper / winch on, but everything wet out, and I have no garage so no luck for me!

Thanks Tenny it was nice to meet you. Yes it was good that it didn't rain yesterday gave me the opportunity to git 'er done! Another thing I picked up on the cheap that is going to be put on soon is the roof top tent in the picture below...

Nice Ed -

Jeep looks good. great score on that bumper - that bumper has seen more trail time, than I ever will.

Lookin good Ed. It's coming along nicely.
I finally got some REAL LCA's (TeraFlex), and Opiemade bumper (yellow still haunts me).
That's the extent of my exitment. Looking forward to wheeling with you again at Deer Valley

Thanks Harlee, I'm looking forward to it as well. The lockers and gears front and rear going in soon has gotten me really excited! We should definetly have good times this year.

ed that thing is coming along! i like those sliders and that bumper.......
cant wait to do some wheeling with that thing this summer...

Just make sure the bumper doesn't just bolt up like a stock one or you'll be watching it come off when you pull something! The one on mine came off Jes' rig and is very beefy. It was sweet to be able to just bolt the winch in without having to drill or cut anything.

hey Ed cant wait until i get my winch and bumper on. Also really need that Aussie locker in the rear. Meet a guy named Anthony last nite at Starbucks in Burlingame hes gonna come down to Hollister hills on the 21st so thats cool. He has a 90 xj lifted locked and safari rack picked it up for 2250.00 he just added the same bumper and winch combo you have he also got the winch at the Expo center wished i could have gone. any how dont wante to tie up this thread see you soon Jason hasta:gag::gag:

Heading to Kierans shop to install the D44 in a few minutes, I'm stoked!

Thinking about my old Detroit you got in your 44 now. That locker has been beaten to hell and back and it still works. I bought it used from a guy who bought it used. I blew up 2 shafts over 3 years running 33's and seriously thought I did it in for good with the egg shaped bearing journal. The guy I bought it from abused it for a few years with some 36's on a old CJ, he bent his housing and upgraded to a 60. Don't know much about the guy before him, but that locker has seen some serious trail time and has held up well. Hope it works out well for you too.

Hey Jess im the guy that pulled out your front windshield why dont you like the roller fairlead:worship:
