PROBLEMS

Does any one know the length and size of the three bolts that go from my passenger side motor mount bracket to the block. Because all three of mine sheared straight off in my block. I am going to attemp to pull the motor my self and tap them out. I just want to do a little research before I do this. By the way I have a 97 4.0.

All I know is that the factory bolts are a few thousandths too long and that is the main reason they shear off. If you get some new factory bolts, grind them down a touch before installation.

You can always pull one of the good ones and take it to the hardware store to match up size and thread pitch.

So you are saying that the driver and passenger side bolts are the same.

eww this happend to me on my first XJ... I dont remember off hand what the size was though. I was able to get them out with a craftsman bolt extractor kit while the engine was still in. I used a right angle drill. It sucked bad!
