Problems Accessing NAXJA Website

While at work, running off of a large network with a firewall, I can access NAXJA fine. When I go home, I can't connect to the site, although I can access other internet websites. I'm running 2000 at work, cuurent service packs and updates. I'm running XP at home with SP1 and current updates. Anyone else experiencing this problem, or may know what would be causing this to happen?

Thanks in Advance,
Brian

Couple of things you can look at, first is see if you can ping naxja from home. Just open a command prompt window 'start' 'run' type in 'cmd' <enter> dos type window pops open. Then, in that window type 'ping www.naxja.org' <enter> you should get a response. If that does not work then from that same command line type 'nslookup www.naxja.org' if that does not work and it cannot be resolved your DNS servers are hokey. Type ipconfig /all and see if you have any DNS servers set in there.
If it does work you can also try 'tracert www.naxja.org' that will show you the network path that it takes to get to naxja from the system you are on.If ping, nslookup and tracert all work then you have a security setting somewhere thats off. Got a call from a customer last nite, he put in SP2 and is having all kinds of access issues all of a sudden. He put it in sat morning so I had him step the system back to friday nite and all is well. Had him turn auto update off too....
I had a similar problem last week to that, some worked some did not, it was bad dns servers causing the problem, Once I put one of the dns servers I built for a customer in it worked fine. When I first called verizon on it they tried to blame it on my stuff till I had them do an NS lookup with the servers they were supplying to that net. Took them a day and a half but they fixed it...
I wish I could get paid for the amount of times I find screwed up routers at ATT and bad dns servers from the providers....

Well, after trying everything that Rich had suggested, I'm still unable to connect to the NAXJA website. I can not ping the site, making me believe that there is a firewall enabled somewhere on the network. I'm currently on campus, thus not giving me many options as to how to get around it. I also flushed my DNS settings, which proved not to work as well. From what I have explained, does it seem that the problem I am occuring would be a firewall? This is the conclusion that I have come up with, but without talking to one of the network support guys at the school, I can't really be sure of this.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Brian
