Problem with ebay purchase

I am really not very happy right now. Three and a half weeks ago I purchased gears from a vendor on Ebay. After excuse after excuse I finally recieved them today. The auction I won was for Dana 30 and Chrysler 8.25" Motive ring and pinions and master bearing/install kits. Today I recieved USA Standard gears and install kits. I wasn't looking forward to gears that failed Yukon quality control, which I have read USA standard is. Where it says "May be noisy" on the side of the box has me a little worried.

Do I have the right to be pissed?

What should I request they do? Send me my Motives? Give me money back?

I am pretty sure they are going to say I have to pay the shipping back. But why should I pay for shipping when they didn't send me what I paid for?

Open up an ebay dispute. I would be pissed as hell that I waited almost 4 weeks only to get gears I didn't want. Curb stomp them.

I sell a lot on ebay. Did you pay with paypal? Open a not as advertised complaint with ebay and PayPal will put a freeze on their account in the amount of your transaction. ebay is rigged in the buyers favor. I had a guy return a different item than he bought and they still forced a refund.

It is from pretty big company too. They already responded they would refund me when I returned the item. I sent them a message asking for a shipping label and they havent responded yet. I don't know how much it is to ship gears but it can't be very cheap and I really don't want to eat it.

I filed a ebay complaint but when I tried to file a complaint with paypal it sent me back to ebay. Was I missing something with paypal?

You can only file a complaint with eBay *or* Paypal, not both. I've heard stories of people who filed with both and both complaints get dropped - and they're not able to re-file.

What if he filed dispute in PayPal first instead in eBay? I am having some similar problem. I want to put dispute from PayPal so that the seller can not withdraw my money at the moment.

You can file with either eBay or Paypal, just not both at the same time. You can start with Paypal if you wish. Most sellers are finding that they are having their incoming Paypal funds held for up to 21 days just in case there is a problem and a refund is required - the hold can be released either after 21 days, or if there is online trackable proof of delivery, or if the buyer posts positive feedback.
