Pressure bottle relocation...

I don't have pictures but I simply zip tied it to the light fender frame in my '99.

Ummmm, that's not a pressure bottle, it's a vacuum bottle.

It can go anywhere ... preferably somewhere that won't get whacked.

What's its purpose? I have a 91' 4.0L 4 speed auto.

It supplies a vacuume resirve for all of your vacuume operated sensors and controls. Without it youre just asking for trouble.

Mines screwed to the fender support triangle thing. Fits perfectly.

Fine. Its been this way for a couple weeks and everything works fine. Ive tried to screw stuff up and i cant get it to make a difference. Take it off. If u have problems put it back on.

thought the air conditioning controls and cruise control uses the vacuum canisister. its not there for no reason.

my cruise and ac/heat work fine. Im sure its there for a reason. It just hasnt effected me in anyway. Other than givin me one more thing to take off my jeep.

The bottle simply provides a reservoir for vacuum, so that a quick use of the vacuum pressure doesn't rob other devices from the vacuum they need. Everything should work fine without it, but might momentarily fail when a lot of vacuum is used.

I forgot to hook mine back up on my 99 after I had the bumper off. It took me a few days to figure out why my climate control vents were stuck on defrost and why my cruise control didn't work any more. I finally remembered that I didn't plug it back in and both of those problems instantly went away when I plugged the hose back in. Maybe the system on newer cherokees is different than older ones.

The problem with your is that is was unplugged, not capped off and removed. You had a vacuum leak. Removing the bottle involves plugging off the lines, eliminating any leaks/problems.
