Its open! We wheeled it today and had a blast. You can barely tell there was a fire up there. I don't have any pics of my junk in action but I snapped a few of a nice ARB locked F/R TJ. This guy beat on the D-30 way more than it should have took!

He drove up the other side of this rock for the "poser" shot. It walked the 4' ledge!

This is a legal play area that is a bit knarly. He went up this ledge then turned and dropped back off of it.

This was the coolest rig on the trail today! Its a 79 Yota long bed 2wd converted 4wd with 82 running gear under it, welded front rear, Marlin Crawler T-case with some lower gear reduction, 5 spd, 22R(carbed) 33's and cool as hell! This truck has inspired me to build a long bed MJ to replace Old Blue with.

All together we had 6 rigs;

A 08 4 dr JK on 4.5" lift and 35's. It broke and had to be limped out and trailer ed.
A SAS'd Tocoma Locked F/R on 35's
The Old Yota
A 98 GC on 3" lift and 31's
A 1st gen IFS 4-runner stock, he blew a birf and then his master cylinder went out, We limped him out and trailered it home.
The red TJ with F/R ARB's on IROKS
My 96 POS XJ trail rig, Old Blue

Great, I up there years ago.
Been wanting to go back,
but I forgot where it was???

Haha! Yep its "out of the way" so to speak. The easiest way to get to the trail is at the top.

Follow 311 north out of Salem, go past New Castle about 9 miles. You will make a right on to a gravel road called Potts East. Stay straight on Potts East until you reach the "T" at the end of the road(about 8 miles). Go right at the T and the top of the trail head is right there on the left.

I hate going top-down though, its no fun. But I can't even remember all of the twists and turns to get you to the bottom trail head. I could drive you there but thats about it.

Please mind all of the trail rules while up there and remember you rig has to be tagged and insured(street legal) to run this trail. It is considered a public road in VA.

If anyone decides they want to go on a Saturday/Sunday between now and August just PM me and I will try to be available to lead you through the trail.

Looks like a fun time and some good trails. That's a step back in the time machine seeing that Yota. It looks good.

I love it! It has inspired my next build, a long bed MJ trail rig. Sounds like a departure angle nightmare but what the hell, I want one!
