Pop goes my Nissan

Well I bought my Jeep as my daily driver so I could get back to building my 92 Nissan 240sx. And today, at just under 164k miles, the headgasket finally blew on the Nissan, and still made it home. Shes had one hell of a life that old girl, overheating every day, while drag racing, while on the dyno, around town, everywhere for the last 10k miles. Add a QT of oil with every fill-up, and hope the cops dont see all the smoke. And just today she quit, and it dosent hurt my feelings one bit. There's no denying that I beat the hell out of it.

But the even better news is it's time for me to pull the KA24DE, rebuild it from the bottom up, and put a turbo on that bad bitch! I know you guys dont seem to be import guys, but I figured I'd share the good news. I'm so excited. The next investment is a car hauler, the Jeep already has an electric brake setup in it.

Is your Jeep an automatic? Even then, I don't think its a good idea to tow a trailered car behind an XJ...

I really like those 240sx also. I want one but for a fun, efficient around town, female driver friendly, grocery getter, commuter car, and have my XJ for the weekends, road trips and carrying passengers. I went to the u pull it junkyard today (Ecology, Oceanside) they have a decent import section there and there was SPOTLESS 5spd 240sx. Someone was busily stripping it, but to make a long story short, its sticker said its curb weight was only around 2000 lbs. The XJ is rated to tow 5000lbs so figure the car+trailer, it would probably still work, IF you're real careful have got the right equipment (that came with the tow package) such as heavyduty cooling, antiswaying and auxiliary brakes. The big problem is the XJ stock brakes, they don't seem very robust by themselves let alone towing a car downhill.

very cool, i have a buddy, he is on his second 240. The first one he put a turboed old school CA something or another in it, it was fun but now he is building another one mainly for drift. Those things are lots of fun. What are you going to be using yours for.

My Jeep is an auto. It has a tranny cooler and electric brake set-up. Also I wouldn't be towing it too far, 10 miles at most, to the body shop and back, to the track and back, minimul times. All are 10 miunte drives from home. I think the Jeep should be sufficiant enough for that, no long hauls though.

My 240 was my daily driver, till she poped. I drag race it for the heck of it, but I dont want it to be a drag car. Mostly I want a fast daily driver, I get out of work at midnight and the roads are always empty, I dont pass one car the whole ride home. I want a snappy throttle, but mostly I want it to handle like its on rails. A can drift the car too, well, "could" I should say. Man you pop that clutch at 4500 and 2nd gear, and she goes right out sideways at 45 mph, easy to control too. That car is my baby, I spend more time on the car then I do with the girlfriend (sad, I know).

I'm looking to spend about 3-4K on the motor over the next 6-10 months, I know its ambitios but I want a monster, looking for about 300HP when I drop it in, and 400HP after a few more mods, all out of a 2.4L truck motor.

Wish me luck...
