i don't think you could ,they are kinda wraparound molded and contoured. not a perfect fit but better than broken ones

They look great. I remember seeing my first set on ebay years ago (that's how I found out about the Jeep 2500). Some guy bought 2 sets (one for himself, and one for resale... I think they went for over 100bucks)

Those tails won't fit our 97+ XJs; sadly we have very few options (aside from those utterly stupid altezzas). Having said that, I have-been in contact with ICPW to make us a set of ruby red LED tails. I even sent them some photoshopped mock-ups. They do make LED tails for virtually every other Jeep model, and I am pretty persistent, so who knows... maybe I'll wear them down. I'll keep everyone posted.

I based it off the euro lights (where the reverse portion is in the middle)

You mean just for the turn signals or the stop/tail bulbs too? The reverse lights were on in that pic.

Hehe. I bet you got them from Colin. I was seriously thinking of doing the same thing, but I want to stay away from amber. I considered running some translucent red over the amber (but that stuff rarely lasts one Canadian winter).

I'm going to bother ICPW a bit longer, and if they don't budge I'll pick up spare set of tails so I can send my red/white ones to my buddy Greg for a custom LED set-up.

Seriously? wow that's very cool.
I think those tails are much better than our north american variety... but I'm still holding out for LEDS. I just emailed anzousa.com with a request... Their commander LEDs have a nice oem feel to them.

I've been thinking of a way to do this for a long time. The hardest part seems to be making a red(non diffused) cover. The led boards and bezels wouldn't be too bad.

I got a strange reply from anzousa.com today. They said they did produce an LED taillight for the Cherokee but had too many problems with the resistance from the ecu, so they discontinued the line after a few ECUs melted.

Personally, I don't buy it. I never saw the lights for sale (and I keep my eyes peeled for this stuff all the time), so I emailed him to clarify we're talking about the XJ not the WJ. I asked him for a photo before they were scrapped.

... Sounds like bull on those melting ECU's. Anyone with a basic understanding of electricity would be questioning that statement. But yea I wish there was a higher demand for them. Dodge rams and Fords have millions of options. For us XJ's, it looks like either OEM or one-off...
