Here's mine on day one.
It still had a ton of wires that led to nowhere. Still a big ol' wire harness above the headliner that I've never taken out. I've often thought it'd be cool to find the guy that used to drive it everyday and show him what a beasty mechine it has morphed into.

I just recently dismantled a 97 XJ that belonged to the Dept. of Conservation. Man you talk about a wiring nightmare. It had all the wires for multiple radios, antanee's (sp?), the super cool a-pillar light and misc crap. Who ever wired that thing up was not afraid of butt connectors and extra wire. Not a single in-line fuse to be found anywhere...let alone a relay either! I was really hoping that it had the extended idle feature, but no such luck.

Do a search on here, I believe that all late model XJs have the extended idle feature, you just have to wire it. IIRC, it's wire #12 on the ECU, just need to ground it to enable the extended idle. I'm planning on doing that when I have some spare time to wire up my 3 sets of lights and relay box.XJ&TJ4ME said:

Jeff's up front and mine in the back...
We remove the blues and replace them with ambers, then the center spinner gets a green filter...so not exactly a police bar, but that's not what we do anyways.
