As you may know I am parting out a 2001 2 door jeep Cherokee. I made a deal with another member on here “casual” to trade the 2wd 5 speed out of the 01 2 door as well as the front clip and fenders for his 4wd ax-15 and transfer case. The deal was that he would go pull the 2wd trans, take the clip and fenders and in return he would leave his trans and transfer case. He was supposed to go pull it earlier last week, but told me he was getting his tires rotated and a guy backed into him, ruining his radiator. And on the drive home he said he blew his head gasket because of the bad radiator. Then he tells me he pulled his trans/transfer case, rented a truck, and would be out there Thursday to pull the 2wd and drop off the ax-15/transfer case. Thursday comes and he tells me he went out to pull it and had to pull the intake manifold off to get to the two top bolts but was unable to get them because they were a torx and he didn’t have the right size. He said he would be back Friday to pull it the rest of the way. That didn’t bother me as long as he put the intake manifold back on. Friday rolls around and he didn’t go finish. So I told him I would meet up with him Saturday morning at 7:30 to help him pull it the rest of the way since the man who was purchasing the whole jeep was also picking it up on Saturday. I get there at 7:30am Saturday to find out that the trans, intake manifold, stock air box, tail lights, and a couple small things are all missing. I know that he is the only one who knows where the jeep is, and is the only one I let go pull parts off of it. so I call him for a half hour, and he finally picks up at 8am. I tell him all my stuff is missing and that im pissed. He tells me that another naxja guy met up with him on Thursday at my house to pick up an axle from him. He then tells me “ oh crap dude my jeep isn’t in my drive way, the guy who met me at your house probly stole my jeep and also must have stole your stuff too because he has been to both of our houses. So I drive out to “casual’s” house and take him to this guys house who he thinks stole his jeep and my parts. We get there and nothing is there. While we are at this guys house I find out he never met with “casual” at my house but actually met him at a gas station. On the way back to casual’s house I catch him in about 1000 lies and none of his stories match up. We get to his house and I ask to look in his back yard since he has nothing to hide, but refused to let me look. So I finally said screw this im filing a police report and went to the end of the street to wait for the cop. While I am waiting on his street his buddy pulls up in casual’s jeep. The one that “ has a bad radiator, blown head gasket, no trans or transfer case, and got stolen the night before” so the cop shows up and I tell him the whole story and he tells me that im SOL and this is a matter between me and “casual” . so I go back to my house and ask my neighbors if they had happened to see casual put the trans in the back of his “rented truck” on Thursday. They said “ no but I saw a big lifted primer black Cherokee there, it came and went a few times and I could hear it coming up the street”. So obviously he didnt blow his head gasket, didn’t pull the trans and transfer case, didn’t rent a truck, and his jeep didn’t get stolen. And he had no intention of leaving the trans/ transfer case since they were obviously still in his jeep.
He swears he didn’t steal it and has no clue where it is.
But why would “casual” make all this stuff up about his head gasket and renting a truck and his jeep getting stolen for no reason?
Now I am out a 2wd trans, the trans and transfer case he owed me, the intake manifold and all the other parts that were stolen. And now (understandably) the man who was going to purchase the whole jeep no longer wants it because of all the missing parts.
This is exactly what happened. You guys can form your own opinions, but I would highly recommend to never deal with this “casual” guy.
Thank you and have a nice day
