Headed up with the Dyfunctional crew last weekend and we had a blast. A lot of carnage but a good time was had by all.
Aaron skyin' it out...

Joel in his XJ( :D ) buggy...

Awsome scenery at Spyder Lake!

One thing's for sure, the box is really ugly right now. It claimed a rear 60(30 spline), the ujoint and ears on a front 60, and a front output on a Dana300. The only person to make it look easy was Joel in his XJ( :D ).
Here's the rest of the pics...

How can that be an XJ? The front diff is on the wrong side! :D

How much of that "XJ Buggy" is still XJ, or does it just have an XJ front grill, sort of? Many people use Jeep Liberty grills on their buggies, it doesn't mean they have a Liberty.

Is it all because of Jess that they are shutting the sh!t down? or at least shutting down camping around Spider Lake!

the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors Voted today to Recommend to the Forrest Service that Camping around Spider Lake be SUSPENDED. This is something that the Forrest service agrees with. The plan has not been formulated yet as to when and how, but I would guess it won't take to long.

Joel built the thing, it's got a tube frame, Jeep 5.2, TF727(?), AtlasII 3.0, Mog portals, on 37" Crawlerz. Sweet machine!

Ya, been reading about that.
We had almost 20 rigs(maybe 30 people?) with us and we hauled out all our shit in P.E.T.T.s and really did a great cleanup job around where we were camping.
It's unfortunate how some people feel that they don't need to clean up after themselves. There's been a real influx of stupid MFs going up there and trashing the place. :flamemad:
Why the hell would you trash a place like this?

Unfortunately there are people that don't care and don't clean up after themselves. They feel that other people will do this for them. Many people just peeing in the water I guess. :nono: I have only been to the Rubicon once and am amazed at how nice it was, I was expecting it to be so, but you really appreciate it when you actually do the trail. Maybe we can crack down by taking note of who is doing this damage if we see it and get license plate#'s and such and report it to the Rubicon Patrol &/or police. This has to stop and people have to know that they will not be able to get away with this stuff and could face serious fines etc. We cannot just stand idle and watch the Rubicon trail and others be taken away from us on the action of a few stupid people that don't care.

When we went in June some guys with a Toyota, tossed there hood on the side of the trail. We told the sheriff patrol and they were cited for it. I was pissed but some guys in our group were really mad. There was some talk of A$$ kickin! I told them "I got your back" but told them it would probably end there trail run on a down side note. Cooler heads prevailed when we saw the long arm of the law on the Con. :hang: :twak:

Cool, that's what we have to do. Take down license plate#'s and tell the local authorities. If we don't the trail will continue to go downhill and we could/will lose the rights to it. Nobody is too insignificant to make a difference.
