I'm new to this forum and to Jeeps. After several weeks of looking I finally came across a nice 99 XJ. 73k, NP231, 8.25, no mods (yet). I picked it up this weekend. Check it out:
Nice to meet you Craig! Good looking Jeep ya got there. Mine's a 99 too with a few extra doo dads added...
Welcome to the Northwest Chapter! There's a Meet and greet with some guys local to you. Look for the thread here in the Northwest Chapter and you are welcome to attend!
Welcome again, Craig

Edit!! OH! I will have some parts available real soon. Try to get some tow points as soon as possible and go on some runs with the locals, ok?
that is a sweet color. Who cares about the drivetrain, do the 99s have cupholders? That's a helluva first post bro. I didn't learn how to post pics till about 75. You didnt even ask any dumb questions....you sure your a new guy? Welcome to boss.

Welcome to the board, and the wonderful world of XJs. Is that 'Deep Amethyst', or just a dark blue?
RE: your wheeling question. Tillamook State Forest has a bunch of trails that are do-able in a stock rig. Check out our recent NorthwestFest event thread that was held there.
Browns camp also has stuff for stock rigs, and its only about a 45 min maybe an hour drive from Portland, let me know if you want to go sometime. I am in Newberg, so always looking for people to go with.
I believe it is the 'Deep Amethyst' since it's more purple than blue in full sun, but I really like that it looks different in different situations.

welcome Craig, and good luck on the future build. It's fun, once you get started, you'll never stop. Go big though, if you think you'll eventually want 35's, build around that. Hope to see you out soon.
Awesome XJ, I would love to get something like that for my wife to use as her DD.
It's not around Portland, but a bunch of use are having a Noobfest in Yahuya the 14th and 15th. If you can make it up it would be a great time to meet everyone, plus Tahuya is easy enough that even it a stock rig you probably wont be braking or busting up stuff. <Knock on wood>
If you ever scratch that paint you're going to have a mob of pissed off NWC members. Better rattle can it now. I vote for olive green...flat olive green.
