OK, AEV(American Expedition Vehicles) the company that makes Hemi conversions for the TJ and JK, high line fender kit, Brute conversion, ect. Makes some really good stuff, but it's really all only for the Wranglers. Take a look around the web site and look at the things they offer. Why can't we get some of the cool toys? It has been said time and time again, the XJ is a force to be reckoned with, and has a huge following. Not as big as the Wrangler, but we can't all be cheer leaders right?

Example: Their Nth Degree tummy tuck belly pan give up to 2.75" belly clearance over stock with no body lift required.
Right now he next best one on the market is Rokmen and they give 2.25" but require a 1" body lift. Though Savvy is currently working on an aluminum flat belly skid, but that one requires a 1"BL, motor mount lift, and a bunch of other do-dads to make it work.

EricsXJ has a rear bumper made by them, but "they only sold 25 then stopped because they had issues with the powdercoat and never continued making them again." I say they should start making things for the XJ, more than just wheels, and a oil pan skid that fits on any Jeep with the 4.0.

I had a turn key AEV JK Rubicon sitting in my garage for almost a month.

After spending that time fixing all the things they did wrong I wouldn't give that company any of my money.

Those horrendously expensive DOT beadlocks they sell? They run the bolts for the beadlocks right into the aluminum wheels. No steel inserts at all.

The guy who bought this jeep had his brakes fail after they put the lines too close to the shocks on the axles. One good flex and it ripped a brake line off.

After seeing poor craftsmanship like this I think it would be crazy (well OK even more crazy) to spend $60K on a vehicle like that. Oh yeah, thats $60K and it wasn't even a Hemi conversion.

I almost forgot, the bumper they build for the JK's doesn't even allow you to change a headlight without removing the bumper. A good four hour job.

Maybe you are talking about a different bumper... But how does this stop you from removing the headlight? I am assuming (could be my error :eyes:) that the changing process is pretty much the same as the XJs?

There are a ton of aftermarket manufacturers that focus almost completely on the XJ.

Shackle relocation brackets, frame stiffeners, suspensions, bumpers, quarter guards, lights, tire carriers, etc.

Let's leave the "online petitions" alone. You know what they do? Absolutely nothing.

Nope, you have to take the grill out to get to the piece that retains the lights. This isn't to change the bulb. I think they have H4 style bulbs from the factory that you can get to from the back but if you have to change a lens. Thats the only way to do it.

They guy who owned this jeep I was in possession of lives in England. He found this out when he shipped it to England and they had to replace the headlights with E-code lights.

Maybe this will go better then the 5 year petition for revell to make an XJ model.

Weird. I lived in Europe for 7 years (4 in England, 3 in Germany) and never had to change my headlights on my vehicles. Only had to adjust them the opposite way to not blind oncoming traffic.

England is the only country in Europe where the headlights are drasticly different.

When he imported that Jeep there was a lot of things he had to change. He had KM2 tires that were not legal because they were not rated for Europe. The tail lights had to be changed plus a bunch of other things.

From what I have been told England has got really severe in their vehicle inspections and importing.

DEAR AEV: please stay far, far away from xj's, everything you make is obviously yuppie garbage.

Spot on. Mall crawler Deluxe by the sound of it.

Ill be happy with doing my own work than to have some shoddy aftermarket company bolt it together.

Good luck with that.

Will never happen for two reasons.

1: XJs are dead, they haven't made them for almost ten years now.
2: XJ owners are too cheap to overpay at AEV's prices.

I do admit that I like the AEV Brute TJ though, but I'd rather get the build it yourself kit than buy a turnkey car.

Why? Because the XJ is a dying breed. It has been off the new car market for almost 10 years. Wranglers is where the money is at for aftermarket.

I talked with a factory rep up at Nachese a couple of years ago for AEV and it was pretty much as everyone is saying. Not enough demand and the vehicle is out of production. Seemed like a nice guy, they were running some sort of training camp up there and he had a brand new JK with their hemi conversion on it and he was staying at our camp ground. Man was that an expensive set up.
