Parts Washer? Mineral Spirits or Safety Kleen

I like to dunk parts in a bucket of gasoline for a few hours to clean up the really stubborn sludge, then a bucket of acetone to remove the thin oils and gasoline residue. Don't have a parts washer yet.

I do keep the buckets sealed when not in use to avoid polluting and also avoid letting all my solvents evaporate away, that stuff is expensive :gee:
 
Jesus Christ. How did you find out they got cancer or was it shortly after the exposure?

The cancer developed over a few decades of heavy exposure. A few of the older guys I work with were talking about the place one day and how nasty carbon-tet is.

my dad was a mechanic for like 45 years, he ended up with bladder cancer. they thought it was due to the chemicals.
