optima batt.

wow... i just got a yellowtop... hope i got a good one. i used to have a red top and i killed after wheeling and killing my alternator... didnt realize my alt had gone bad till three days later of driving it around. by that time my bat had had it, it was 4 years old though. i loved it. hope the yellow does the thing for me too

My red top is going on 3 years, I have a power draw somwhere on my XJ that I cann't find, so I've killed it stone dead atleast a dozen times and since I don't drive it often it would sit like that for a week or more. Everytime I boosted it and it came back.

Those of you who had them die where did you buy them themÉ I have heard that the ones from Walmart and Costco are not as good......

Had a yellow top take a dump at about 14 months. Just died all of the sudden. Now the red top in my wifes exterra is having a hard time holding a charge and it's less than 8 months old.
I won't ever buy another optima. They are crap in my experience. Don't waste the money.

sounds like your wifes car has electrical issues not battery issues.. Ive had 6 red tops over the last 5 years in different rigs...to this day all 6 are still working like new in the rigs Ive put them in. I wont buy anything else for a battery again.

This thread is great. I have 2 yellow tops and my XJ decided not to start the other day. I thought it was because of the cold, so I plugged it in (-35 degrees), and tried the next day. Nothing. I can jump it, so the starter is good, the alternator is relatively new, but the no start thing was bugging me. If it's just the battery, I can return it and get a new one. Thanks.

Have over 5 good years on the Optima Redtop. Since last summer, I am using an Optima Bluetop with 12voltguy's dual battery setup. This is working out fine so far.

Another happy Optima customer here.

I did fry a Yellow Top, but I attribute that to letting someone use it to weld on their Jeep on the Rubicon Trail.

I've had a Red Top for two years with absolutely no issues. I just switched it over to my gas-saving DD, since the Jeep is no longer my DD.

I;ll be getting an Odyssey 1200 for the Jeep very soon. Only because I need a dimensionally smaller battery since I relocated the tray location.
